AMP Test 1700 and Monster Test have seven ingredients in common. In addition, AMP Test 1700 offers two types of Tribulus terrestris extract within its formula. It is quite difficult to determine whether these two formulas have further similarities since Monster Test hid most of its ingredients in its proprietary blend.
How are the formulas of AMP Test 1700 and Monster Test different?
AMP Test 1700 and Monster Test may have a lot of similar ingredients. However, if we look into them further, we noticed a lot of differences among them. Formula differences may be in the form of a different compound, a different brand of a particular plant extract, different percent standardization or percent daily value and many more. The same active ingredient may come in different forms (quality and quantity) when it comes to dietary supplements.
Both formulas supply magnesium and zinc (which both help improve sleep quality). However, Monster Test offers the higher dosage (500 milligrams of magnesium and 50 milligrams of zinc per serving) while AMP Test 1700 offers the better form of both minerals (magnesium glycinate and zinc oxide).
When it comes to essential minerals, more isn’t always better. This seems to be the case with Monster Test since it supplies mega doses of magnesium and zinc which may eventually lead to mineral toxicity with long term usage. Mineral toxicity may lead to several unwanted side effects – these minerals may even have a detrimental effect on overall health with regular mega doses.
You can obtain both of these minerals from food, so why will you need mega doses of them in the form of dietary supplements? Zinc and magnesium in AMP Test 1700 are already enough if you are getting a good amount of magnesium and zinc from dietary sources.
You can find fenugreek in most – if not all – testosterone boosters due to its popularity and effectiveness. It’s also in both AMP Test 1700 and Monster Test, too. However, AMP Test 1700 uses a branded form of fenugreeek in contrast to the generic fenugreek extract of Monster Test with questionable quantity and quality. If you want to get the better form of fenugreek, it would be best to choose AMP Test 1700.
Tribulus terrestris is an aphrodisiac which is good for men’s health. However, Tribulus terrestris can only maintain – and not directly boost – testosterone levels. AMP Test 1700 contains a lot of Tribulus terrestris (500 milligrams in all) – it even offers two forms of this plant extract to be exact (Tribulus terrestris fruit extract and Tribulus terrestris extract [aerial parts]) . On the other hand, Monster Test included Tribulus terrestris in its proprietary blend. You can see for yourself it did not indicate the exact dosage, which is a shame.
Both AMP Test 1700 and Monster Test feature chrysin and indole-3-carbinol . Some ingredients are questionable for testosterone booster stacks. These two components don’t have stellar track records in terms of boosting testosterone levels or physical performance. Research trying to determine whether these ingredients are beneficial for men or not is still in its infancy.
Tongkat ali is a popular sex enhancer and testosterone booster. It is great to find Tongkat ali in both of these formulas. AMP Test 1700 offers a quality extract of Tongkat Ali with clearly stated variety (longjack root) and type of extract. On the other hand, Monster Test did not indicate the part of the plant where the extract came from. It seems that the most beneficial part of Tongkat Ali is its roots (experts consider these an anti-aging remedy).
Segue, these two formulas have different ingredients, too.
AMP Test 1700 has these ingredients, which are not in Monster Test:
- KSM-66®: Ashwagandha Extract (root)
- Deer Antler Horn Powder
- Sage Leaf Extract (Salvia officinalis)
- Bovine Colostrum
- Calcium Hydroxymethyl Butyrate Monohydrate (HMB)
- Rhaponticum carthamoides Root Extract
- DIM (Diindolylmethane)
- Proprietary Mushroom Blend: (Maitake Mushroom Mycelia Powder Shiitake Mushroom Mycelia Powder Reishi Mushroom Powder)
Monster Test has these ingredients in these forms, which are not in AMP Test 1700:
- Vitamin A (as Acetate)
- Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid)
- Vitamin D3
- Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine)
- Vitamin B12 (as Cobalamine)
- Triphala
- Garlic
- Horny Goat
- Maca
- Rhodiola rosea
- L-Argenine
- Saw Palmetto
- Omega 3
- D-Aspartic Acid
- Ginseng
- L-Carnitine
- Boron
- Bulbine natelensis
- Ginkgo biloba
- L-Citrulline
Which is the better formula?
Choosing the better formula between AMP Test 1700 and Monster Test is quite difficult. There are lots of things we must consider in choosing an effective testosterone booster. The dosage and form of ingredients are sure to affect a supplement’s effectiveness.
AMP Test 1700 offers a good combination of different herbs which will help ramp up testosterone levels. In addition, it also contains three standardized, two premium branded forms, and one plain herb which are all very potent and high-quality.
However, the formula of AMP Test 1700 also has its own cons since there are a lot of ingredients which aren’t helpful for testosterone and physical performance. Here are the qustionable ingredients found in AMP Test 1700: sage leaf extract (Salvia officinalis), bovine colostrum, calcium hydroxymethyl butyrate monohydrate (HMB), Proprietary Mushroom Blend: (maitake mushroom mycelia powder, shiitake mushroom mycelia powder, reishi mushroom powder). These ingredients aren’t horrible, but we don’t consider them good t-boosters.
AMP Test 1700 has other shady ingredients. The presence of deer antler horn powder (a.k.a. deer antler velvet) in this formula won’t allow you to join competitions because it is an anabolic hormone which both the WADA & the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency banned. In addition, deer antler horn powder isn’t beneficial for testosterone. Indole-3-carbinol (IC3) and diindolylmethane (DIM) are questionable ingredients, too. Both of them have conflicting scientific evidences toward testosterone.
Monster Test has these beneficial t-booster ingredients: d-aspartic acid, zinc, vitamin D, boron, fenugreek, tongkat ali, Rhodiola rosea, saw palmetto, vitamin B6, and Ginkgo biloba. These are scientifically-proven components for testosterone. However, Monster Test has questionable ingredients, too: chrysin, indole-3-carbinol, and Bulbine natalensis are unnecessary additions to this formula since they aren’t beneficial for testosterone.
There are also a few cons in the formulation of Monster Test since it supplies mega doses of certain essential vitamins and minerals which may eventually lead to toxicity with long-term usage. In addition, you can obtain these vitamins and minerals from food so the amount Monster Test offers is unnecessary and unhealthy.
Another problem with Monster Test’s formula is the hidden dosage in its proprietary blend. How will you know you’re getting the right amount of a particular ingredient? Monster Test’s proprietary blend contains a few ingredients which may cause gastrointestinal distress in high doses.
AMP Test 1700 and Monster Test are both effective supplements for testosterone. However, it seems that AMP Test 1700 offers the better form and dosage of each ingredient. In addition, AMP Test 1700 is less likely to cause vitamin or mineral toxicity with its formulation. Therefore, AMP Test 1700 has the better formula. However, this supplement contains deer antler horn powder which contains an anabolic hormone which both WADA & the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency banned.

AMP Test 1700 vs. Monster Test: Which is Better?
AMP Test 1700 is the better supplement overall. It has high-quality and scientifically-proven ingredients in its formula. However, in contrast to its advertisement, the entire formulation of AMP Test 1700 is not clinically-proven. In fact, only a few of its listed ingredients are effective. Experts have tested its other ingredients only in animal studies. Nevertheless, it won’t matter if you won’t enter competitions, anyway. AMP Test 1700 is more expensive than Monster Test, but the former surely offers the better formulation which is less risky for your health.
