Formula Comparison
Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 are both hybrid formulas for your testosterone, libido and muscle.
Alpha King is a premier free testosterone booster, and it can:
- Build lean muscle
- Boost sex drive and libido
- Improve performance
AMP Test 1700 is a muscle performance enhancer which also supports testosterone & libido. It can:
- Increase testosterone levels
- Enhance libido
- Improve muscle performance
How are the formulas of Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 similar?
Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 are both trying to promote optimum muscle gains while increasing your testosterone and libido. Therefore, these two formulas have a few ingredients in common to fulfill similar promises:
Ingredient | Alpha King | AMP Test 1700 |
Fenugreek | AlphaFen® Fenugreek Seed Liposomal Extract (std. to sapogenins) 400 mg | Testofen® Fenugreek Seed Extract (Trigonella foenum-graecum) 600 mg |
Tribulus terrestris | Tribulus terrestris (fruit) 150 mg | Tribulus terrestrisFruit Extract (40% saponins = 100 mg) 250 mg, Tribulus terrestris Extract (Aerial Parts) 250 mg |
DIM (diindolylmethane) | DIM (diindolylmethane) 100 mg | DIM (Diindolylmethane) 1000 mcg |
Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 both opted from branded forms of fenugreek extract. Fenugreek is not only great for testosterone, but also for muscles, too. Branded and standardized fenugreek is definitely more potent than plain plant powder, which is great. AMP Test 1700 offers 600 mg of Testofen®, while Alpha King provides only 400 mg of this manly herb. Therefore, AMP Test 1700 is the better choice if you want a hefty amount of fenugreek.
How are the formulas of Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 different?
Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 both provide Tribulus terrestris and DIM. However, these formulas differ in either the form or dosage of their shared ingredients. Alpha King uses plain powdered Tribulus terrestris extract which is a lot less potent than its two forms in AMP Test 1700. Let’s make it clear that Tribulus terrestris isn’t an ingredient for testosterone, but it is beneficial for libido. Nevertheless, the two forms of Tribulus terrestris in AMP Test 1700 will increase you sex drive and enrich your sex life.
Both Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 feature DIM. They offer the same form in different dosages. DIM isn’t a direct testosterone booster, but it is an aromatase inhibitor which stifles the conversion of testosterone into estrogen, so you maintain a healthy testosterone:estrogen ratio in your body. However, there have been conflicting scientific evidences on the benefits of DIM for men.
Alpha King offers a higher dosage of DIM compared to AMP Test 1700. However, AMP Test 1700 also contains indole-3-carbinol (IC3), which is a by-product of DIM. Thus, they have similar effects. Essentially, Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 contain equal amounts of DIM or its by-products. The latter provides 1,000 mcg of DIM and 99mg of IC3 which is a total of 100 mg, while the former provides 100 mg of DIM.
Segue, these two formulas have different ingredients, too.
Alpha King has these ingredients, which are not in AMP Test 1700:

- Deer Antler Horn Powder
- Chrysin
- Sage Leaf Extract (Salvia officinalis)
- Bovine Colostrum
- Calcium Hydroxymethyl Butyrate Monohydrate (HMB)
- Indole-3-Carbinol
- Tongkat ali Root Extract (Longjack Root) (Eurycoma longifolia)
- Rhaponticum carthamoides Root Extract
- Proprietary Mushroom Blend (Maitake Mushroom Mycelia Powder Shiitake Mushroom Mycelia Powder Reishi Mushroom Powder)
Which is the better formula?
All of the ingredients of Alpha King are in AMP Test 1700, except for black maca root extract, which is an uncommon ingredient in a t-booster. However, it doesn’t really boost testosterone levels at all. Instead, maca provides manly benefits such as increased strength, vitality, and virility. However, having maca in the blend won’t make Alpha King a better formula.
AMP Test 1700 clearly has the better formula for testosterone. In addition, it has pre-workout ingredients and adaptogens. AMP Test 1700 uses potent ingredients and some of them are even branded forms to ensure consistent quality. The formula of AMP Test 1700 does not hide the dosages of its ingredients so you’ll know the forms and dosages of its ingredients.
The only potential problem with this formula is that it contains deer antler horn powder which is an anabolic hormone banned by WADA & the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. Therefore, if you plan to join sports competitions anytime soon, AMP Test 1700 is not the right t-booster for you.
AMP Test 1700 contains potent forms and adequate dosages of its ingredients. However, its unorthodox ingredient combination is experimental at this point. Nevertheless, AMP Test 1700 contains ingredients which are science backs up. Alpha King does not have enough nutrients for testosterone and its ingredients aren’t very potent due to poor dosages.

Alpha King contains only a single high-quality ingredient in its stack, while AMP Test 1700 contains three remarkable ingredients in its formula. High-quality ingredients promote efficient nutrient absorption, so it is important in testosterone boosters. Alpha King contains few ingredients and capsule additives. On the other hand, AMP Test 1700 contains more high-quality ingredients, but it also contains an awful lot of unnecessary tablet additives. Why do you even need flavored tablets, anyway?
Price Comparison
Alpha King | vs. | AMP Test 1700
1 Bottle (30 servings) | $69.99 | 1 Bottle (30 servings) | $119.99
Price Per Serving | $2.33 | Price Per Serving | $4.00 |
These prices are from GNC in 2018. If you want to shop around for a better deal and save a few dollars, you can also buy Alpha King and AMP Test 1700 from your local retailer, Bodybuilding.com, and Amazon. Price varies due to competitive pricing.
Alpha King contains fewer ingredients compared to AMP Test 1700. In addition, only one ingredient of Alpha King is remarkable and the rest aren’t really that potent due to their poor forms and tiny dosages. Alpha King compromised the quality and quantity of its ingredients to become the cheaper supplement, yet it is still able to deliver some manly benefits.
- In terms of pricing, Alpha King is cheaper than AMP Test 1700. However, you just have to expect less from Alpha King. It will neither make you an alpha nor a king. Alpha King is cheaper because it has a lot less of almost everything in AMP Test 1700. The lower price is not worth it since AMP Test 1700 delivers better benefits and it contains three of the four Alpha King ingredients.
Alpha King vs. AMP Test 1700: Which is Better?
AMP Test 1700 offers a formula with synergistic effect for manly health. On the other hand, Alpha King offers a boring formula with four active ingredients in poor dosages. In addition, AMP Test 1700 contains more high-quality ingredients compared to Alpha King. Seriously, if a supplement offers only four active ingredients and its name is Alpha King, it would make you expect more from the supplement. However, in this case, Alpha King did not live up to its name. AMP Test 1700 might be more expensive than Alpha King, but it will definitely deliver the effects that you expect from a hybrid t-booster/pre-workout formula.
