Here’s an early spoiler for this Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster review: This supplement isn’t near as good as Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster. In fact, we’re not entirely sure why Nugenix even bothered with this free testosterone formulation, given how much of a downgrade it is.
And what’s worse, even without the comparison to the elite Nugenix Ultimate formula, this product would still be a questionable buying decision. Unless we’re completely missing something in this supplement that’s hidden in Nugenix Free’s proprietary blend.
Let’s read the Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster review for a closer look.

About Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster
Focusing on free testosterone boosts, Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster deviates from the total testosterone boosting design of Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster. And given how effective Nugenix Ultimate is at boosting testosterone, Nugenix Free’s changes can only be downgrades. Formula notes:
- Nugenix Free Testosterone Blend: The first misstep with this product: Nugenix hides its ingredients in a non-transparent proprietary blend. Thass bayd.
- L-Citrulline: The leading ingredient in this formula is not a testosterone booster but rather a hugely popular N.O. booster. Good for those PWO muscle pumps.
- Poor Design: Nugenix Free seems to target the 30+ aged male, yet doesn’t provide any ingredients that’d help with 30+ aged male testosterone levels.

As opposed to Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster, Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster solely targets test expression — rather than overall test levels.
But wait, don’t those vitamins and minerals help with total testosterone? you ask. Why, yes, they do. However… well, we’ll explain why they likely don’t work in this case after we explain what they might do for testosterone gains:
- Vitamin B6 – Through unknown pathways, B6 levels correlate with testosterone levels. Low B6 associates with low T, so not a bad addition here. Although, most supplements carry this for its nootropic mood boosts.
- Vitamin B12 – Involved in hundred of metabolic pathways, B12 is a key vitamin for general health and wellbeing. Especially in old age, as B12 levels take a gradual decline over time.
- Zinc Chelate – Our #2 test booster on our BIG List of T-Boosters, Zinc plays a direct role in testosterone synthesis, leading to an increase in total testosterone levels.
A nice start to this formula. Or rather it would be if the dosages weren’t so bad: 2 mg B6 and 1 mg Zinc simply won’t cut it. And that B6 form could upgrade to the preferred P-5-P form over the inferior Pyridoxine HCl supplied here.
Having said that, the primary ingredients in this formula are found in the proprietary Nugenix® Free Testosterone blend. Let’s check it out.
Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster Review: Ingredients
L-Citrulline Malate – Not a testosterone booster but an awesome pre-workout muscle pumper. L-citrulline seems to outperform L-arginine in terms of nitric oxide boosting for its higher oral bioavailability. Perhaps the boost on vasodilation may help with sexual health and, through indirect pathways, testosterone expression …but the evidence isn’t clear on this, nor is it necessarily in L-citrulline’s favor.
Testofen® Fenugreek – When a testosterone booster emphasizes its “free” testosterone boosting status, usually this means the formula carries Fenugreek. As a testosterone booster, this herb may help increase free testosterone by inhibiting SHBG and 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme responsible for converting test to DHT. Additionally, Fenugreek may assist with muscle recovery and make your sweat smell like maple syrup. So, that’s kind of fun.
Tribulus – Is this Tribulus terrestris? Or Tribulus alatus? Believe it or not, it does make a difference. However, in Nugenix’s case, perhaps not much of a difference, considering this is plain powder Trib. Not the potent extract source we prefer for sex and exercise enhancement.
Formula Analysis
Let’s get this out of the way: Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster has a bad formula.
The formula may have decent ingredients for male health. But on the whole the poor, proprietary design and weak dosages make this testosterone boosting product a no-go.
Not to say that there’s no value in this formula. L-citrulline, Fenugreek, Tribulus — these are potent compounds and herbs with reliable results on sexual health, libido, and exercise performance. Taken together, these ingredients may accomplish: increased muscle stamina and recovery, as well as potential boosts on free testosterone status.
Yet, given the non-transparent proprietary status of Nugenix’s blend, we can’t be too sure how much of that 2103 mg is spent on each ingredient. Don’t fool yourself: 2103 mg is a significant dosage. Yet, considering that 2,000 mg would be a good standalone dosage for L-citrulline, there’s a chance Nugenix has skimped out on the actual testosterone boosters in this formula. Of which, Tribulus isn’t even a real testosterone booster.
In fact, we’re not even sure which Tribulus this is.
On the whole, Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster is a massive step down from Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster, a frequent Best5 listed testosterone booster. Our recommendation: check out the more powerful Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster review before making any commitments to the free testosterone counterpart.
Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster Benefits
On the Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster label, the following health benefits are listed:
- Feel Stronger
- Increase Sex Drive
- Boost Free Testosterone
For the older male dealing with age-related testosterone decline, Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster can only accomplish so much. Perhaps it may help increase the potency of the testosterone levels that are available. Yet, in terms of total testosterone increases, that goal is better addressed by Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster.
On that note, younger and older bodybuilders may benefit by Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster’s increases on sexual and physical performance. Although, it’s hard to say to what degree of success.
Who Takes It?
“Addresses the biological fact that by age thirty, most men will begin experiencing a gradual reduction in testosterone levels each passing year.” This line suggests that Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster intends to appeal to 30+ aged men experiencing age-related testosterone decline. Yet, this formula doesn’t provide any of the hard hitting testosterone boosters we’d recommend to 30+ aged men.
Rather, Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster might help younger men with their sexual and physical health. (Even though younger men are, on average, at their peak in these departments.)
Any Side Effects?
None reported. And none expected. On the whole, Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster provides safe, natural compounds and herbal extracts. Nothing in the customer reviews indicate any significant risk of side effect. On the contrary, the customer reviews are largely negative due to a lack of any effect at all.
Even so, here is Nugenix’s legal warning disclaimer:
Use only as directed. Consult a health care practitioner if you have a serious medical condition or use prescription medications. This product should not be taken by women. For adult use only.
Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster Review Summary
Pros
- Muscle Pumps. With L-citrulline, Nugenix may significantly improve vascularity.
- Sexual Health. Fenugreek and Trib are better sex enhancers than test boosters.
Cons
- Proprietary. Nugenix regresses to bad habits with this non-transparent blend.
- Weak Dosages. 1 mg for Zinc? What are you trying to pull here, Nugenix?
- Poor Design. Does not assist with age-related test decline as advertised.
- Trib What? Tribulus terrestris or alatus? The difference makes a difference.
- Expensive. You can get these ingredients at a much cheaper price than this. (Also, speaking of the price …well, just read below. It gets even more funky.)
Pricing and Where to Buy
- 1 Bottle (1 month; 90 capsules): $69.99
- 2 Bottles (2 months; 180 capsules): $89.00
- 3 Count (?): $148.14 …???
- Available online and in retail stores
Yeah, the prices are pretty wonky for Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster. Or rather the Amazon prices are wonky. If you buy through Amazon, the price for one bottle is $43.89, dropped down from the $69.99 list price. Buying two bottles makes little difference in terms of cash saved.
Then there’s the “3 Count” listing, which shows a $49.38/Count average on Amazon …which is a horrible deal under Amazon’s user terms, which equate “count” with amount of pills. Perhaps they mistakenly listed “Count” when they meant “Bottles.” Either way, we’d wait for clarification before purchasing this option.
Final Word on Nugenix Free Testosterone Booster
Sort of a surprisingly bad Nugenix formula we’re reviewing here, considering how great Nugenix Ultimate Testosterone Booster is. Our advice: Skip the Nugenix Free and go for Nugenix Ultimate, if you really want shit to get done on those test levels. And you don’t have to just take our word for it: The customer reviews are pretty awful for this product. Not worth the time, cash, or effort.
