If you’ve seen an ad for Sweet Sweat, a topical slimming gel, you probably thought “This stuff is bananas and there is no way it can work.” Think again.
As crazy as it might sound, Sweet Sweat may in fact be applied to targeted parts of the body for successful slimming results. Of course, there are major disclaimers with that “slimming,” and we’re going to discuss them all in this Sweet Sweat review.

- Topical Delivery. It comes in a cream or a roll-on that you can apply directly to whatever spot you want to work on skimming during your workout.

Sweet Sweat Directions
Before exercise, apply Sweet Sweat to the skin, coating desired slimming areas without rubbing it into the skin. Sweet Sweat is activated by elevated heart rate, and is suggested to work best during high-intensity training.
Sweet Sweat is a sensible, high-quality topical product. This is surprising, because it sounds like a “miracle weight loss” formula.
How Does Sweet Sweat Work?
In the words of sports research, Sweet Sweat works like a “portable sauna”. When you apply it to the skin, its various natural waxes and oils create a barrier.
When you exercise, the product is activated. Not in a biochemical sense. It’s a lot more simple than that. When you engage in intense training the part of your body where you applied Sweet Sweat is completely sealed over. As a result, circulation increases to that area while the pores opened up wide. Body temperature in that area increases, and you sweat from that part of your body more.
As a result, spot-slimming is possible with Sweet Sweat. But keep in mind, this is not fat burning or fat breakdown. Instead you are shedding water weight from that one part of your body. It is more of an illusion of slimming than actual slimming.
When you stop using Sweet Sweat, the “weight” will return to the body area that you targeted.
Nevertheless, Sweet Sweat apparently works well enough that people don’t care if it is a temporary illusion of weight loss. If you want real weight loss support, check out our best fat burner supplement guide.
So what makes Sweet Sweat different from paraffin wax or anything else that can be used to seal the skin, safely and naturally? That is where we are impressed with this formula. Because it seems like they have combined the sealing properties of wax with a bunch of nourishing oils that can do a lot of great things for the health and appearance of skin.
Let’s run down each one of the ingredients in Sweet Sweat and give you our theories on why each one might be included in this formula.
Sweet Sweat Ingredients
White Snow Petrolatum
This is basically paraffin wax, derived from petroleum and processed to be soft and odor-free. It is commonly found in a wide range of drug store products, including hair conditioners and topical skin lotions and creams. It also has some inflammation modulating activity.
When this ingredient is used as an “active ingredient” in any therapeutic product, it will be listed just as it is in Sweet Sweat: White Petrolatum.
Brazilian Carnauba Wax
This is a naturally derived wax substance made from the leavues of a specific type of palm tree that is native to Brazil. Carnauba wax is used in a lot of different food, manufacturing, skin and cosmetic applications. It is a safe, edible wax, often used as a protective barrier film wax for various fruits and vegetables.
That same protective film makes sense in Sweet Sweat. Heck, Carnuaba Wax even be used to wax your car. It will definitely form a strong seal when applied to skin that will contribute to Sweet Sweat’s overall spot-slimming effects.
Carnauba wax has also been used as a solid fat matrix that can release active compounds when temperature increases. Again, this is spot-on with some of the claims that Sweet Sweat is making.
Part of Sweet Sweat’s “activation” is more of the body responding to having sealed skin. But Carnauba wax’s heat-activated release features seem to suggest there might be additional “active” ingredients in Sweet Sweat, and there are.
Acai Pulp Oil
Acai fruit pulp is about 10% fatty lipids. Its oil will carry nutrients including a diverse range of antioxidant compounds that make acai super-powerful antioxidant, stronger than blueberries, blackberries and cranberries. Acai Pulp Oil Antioxidants include:
- Anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins, C3G – pigment antioxidants that make acai its rich, dark purple color
- Gallic acid and catechin – two active compounds of green tea, which is a good evidence-backed fat burner
Acai pulp oil is sometimes used as a traditional anti-aging serum for skin. In Sweet Sweat, we think they probably include it just for its general skin-protective and skin-nourishing properties. Acai’s catechins are associated with fat burning when consumed in green tea, but we don’t think you would get any of those benefits if it were topically applied.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A is a basic vitamin that is important for skin health and appearance. In topical form, Vitamin A has been shown to help reduce the appearance of lines, roughness and spots that have been caused by too much sun exposure.
Organic Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is mostly comprised of medium-chain fatty acids, also known as MCTs. These coconut-sourced fatty acids are extremely easy for the stomach to absorb, and help keto dieters to stay mentally sharp while losing more weight. In a dermal product, however, we’re not sure MCTs would be absorbable or serve any purpose.
Of course, MCTs or no, Coconut Oil is legendary as a skin soother, helping to provide therapeutic support for dry skin and psoriasis, especially. In fact, coconut oil is found in over 600 different cosmetic products on the market.
Pomegranate Seed Oil
Supplies polyphenols, including catechin and ellagic acid like what is found in Acai. Pomegranate seed oil has a lot of antioxidant activity, so it helps to protect the skin from free radicals. In addition, pomegranate has been shown to have photoprotecive effects, helping to ward off accelerated skin aging caused by sun exposure. Moreover, research has found that herbal creams made from pomegranate seeds appear to improve skin hydration and elasticity.
Organic Jojoba Oil
This silky-smooth liquid wax has a long history of traditional uses for skin and hair health. It is an effective emollient that helps keep skin nicely hydrated. Jojoba Oil is also suggested to have some inflammation-modulating properties, which could be helpful for skin irritations. In addition, like Carnauba Wax, jojoba has been used as a heat-activated carrier agent for delivery of topical active ingredients.
Virgin Carmelina Oil
Wild Flax, supplies a nice balanced ratio of omega-3 essential fatty acids, including Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) which have natural inflammation-modulating effects that could be helpful on the skin. Popularly used for its soothing properties and to help with roughness. Traditionally used to make skin blams for a wide range of issues including sunburn, skin redness and even acne.
Squalene Oil (Olive)
Oh yeah, it’s delicious, but olive oil is also good for the skin, and is sometimes used to soothe sunburn. Among other nutrients, Olive oil contains Monounsaturated fatty acids including:
- Oleic acid (up to 83%)
- Palmitic acid (up to 20%)
- linoleic acid (up to 20%)
Olive oil also has antimicrobial properties that actually make a lot of sense in Sweet Sweat. Imagine working out with part of your body sealed over. The whole point is to sweat a lot from that area, and combined with the heat seems to be a breeding ground for microbes.
We’ll take any anti-microbial we can get in that scenario, including olive oil in Sweet Sweat.
Aloe Vera Extract
It has been used to help heal, nourish and soothe skin forever. And you know how awesome a big gloopy handful of aloe vera gel feels on that red sunburned skin. It also may help with psoriasis.
Basically this is one of the most common topical skin supplements in the universe, so it makes sense as a general skin-supportive ingredient in Sweet Sweat.
d-Alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Vitamin E is another potent antioxidant and a legendary skin tonic. It is used for eczema, skin dryness, cracking skin, skin healing, and also anti-aging applications to keep skin firm and youthful-looking.
Formula Analysis
The real draw here are the waxy substances that seal the skin and lead to those “slimming” a fax. But what they have done is choose skin sealers that are either organic and natural or shown to be safe – there is nothing sketchy in these skin-sealers. Quite the opposite:
- Sweet Sweat ingredients are safe, natural and beneficial, found in hundreds of different skincare products. You might even be using them right now.
It seems like you could use anything to get the slimming a fax of Sweet Sweat. For example, you could buy some really cheap, basic paraffin wax used for cosmetic purposes.
That’s why Sweet Sweat goes above and beyond. The idea of spots slimming is appealing on many levels. However it can probably wreak a lot of havoc on your skin. All of that heat, sweat, pores blasted wide open, bacteria and microbes. There’s a lot going on when you exercise intensely and part of your body is sealed over.
Our Sweet Sweat review reveals a surprisingly sensible topical slimming gel formulation.
Sweet Sweat combines the basic sealing waxes with vitamins and botanicals that are some of the most highly regarded skin support nutrients known. It’s all of these extra botanicals that make Sweet Sweat so sexy.
Applied topically, the botanicals can help to:
- Fight the age-accelerating effects of free radicals
- Protect the skin from damaging ultraviolet rays, which would be great for training outdoors in the sun
- Help to keep skin firm, supple, and hydrated
- Possibly help to neutralize microbes
In short, if you are going to do something for short-term, illusionary slimming effects, and the method of getting there is probably bad for your skin, that it makes a lot of sense to try and nourish and protect your skin at the same time.
And that is exactly what Sweet Sweat appears to be designed to do.
Sweet Sweat Workout Enhancer Benefits
The main benefit is a temporary, illusory slimming effect on targeted areas due to loss of water weight. The secondary benefits are related to topical nutritional support for healthy and youthful looking skin. This is thanks to Sweet Sweat’s anti-aging antioxidants and natural emollients that help keep skin supple and hydrated.
Sweet Sweats youthful skin benefits may not matter to you, depending on where you intend to apply the gel. However, in researching for this Sweet Sweat review we learned that a lot of consumers will use it for fat around and under the neck, where skin-anti-aging benefits are always welcomed.
Will Sweet Sweat work on cellulite? Nope. Will it burn fat off your body? No way. But it will tighten up and spot-slim your stubborn areas, including thighs, belly, backs of arms, saggy neck, double chin and more. Probably not triple chin, though. We gotta draw the line somewhere.
In addition to “slimming” it makes sense that Sweet Sweat’s “portable sauna” effects might help to boost circulation and promote healing to injured areas and general muscle recovery, as well.
Who Takes It?
A better question is, who wouldn’t take it? So many people have stubborn areas of fat that they would love to melt away. In fact, they would love it so much that they would still use the product even knowing full well that any results are temporary water weight loss, only. Sweet Sweat’s quick water weight loss could have some bodybuilding applications, as well.
Any Side Effects?
In any other spot-slimming formula we would probably have concerns about skin-related side effects. Sweet Sweat, on the other hand, includes so many top-shelf topical skin health ingredients, including inflammation-modulators, that we don’t have those same side effect concerns.
