Real men tend the roots, digging into the essence of manhood to nourish their, well… plant, so to speak, whereas the lazy man shines the stem & leaves.
This is a horrible, unrealistic analogy for manhood. Just go with it.
Of course, the “root” of masculinity is testosterone, thus we should expect a formula called Testosterone Formula for Men, manufactured by the company Well Roots, to adequately boost T, right? What other interpretation is there??
No, this formula is a stem & leaf shiner, leaving most of the root untouched. However, judging by the supplement quality, we wouldn’t accuse these guys of being lazy. (Okay, now the analogy makes zero sense. Who’s writing this shit?)

About Well Roots Testosterone Formula
The Well Roots Testosterone Formula for Men carries all of its key points in the name: It’s a formula designed to boost T for men. Or at least that’s the claim. Well Roots boosts something, we’re just not entirely sure it’s T. Formula notes:
- LJ100® Extract: The advertised star of the Well Roots show, despite sitting at a questionably low #4 spot on the Well Roots Custom Blend.
- Well Roots Custom Blend: It’s proprietary — blehh — and decently dosed — woo — delivering a mix of libido boosters & circulatory enhancers.
- Doppelgänger: We’ve definitely seen this formula before, this exact formula, with exception to design & appearance (&, of course, name).

Well Roots promises to address the “root” of male health — Testosterone — yet primarily supports the “stem.”
Our first, and potentially only, issue with this supplement comes with the dosage masking proprietary blend, but we notice this second to the product’s quality zinc, the #2 ingredient on our BIG List of T-Boosters:
- Zinc Citrate – Quality zinc form (Citrate), heavy dosage (30 mg).
- Copper Citrate – Offsets the copper loss attributed to zinc supplementation.
While Well Roots Testosterone lacks the power & finesse of a full-blown ZMA vitamins & minerals combo, it provides the most important man mineral on the market: Zinc.
Not too shabby.
Let’s see how the rest of the formula fares:
Well Roots Custom Blend, 1040 mg
An overall dosage of 1040 mg split 7 ways allows for a potential average of 148.6 mg per ingredient. Not the best we’ve seen but also nowhere near being the worst, especially given the quality of Well Roots’ chosen blend ingredients:
Tribulus Extract – A standard (potent) T-booster herbal extract, despite not actually boosting T. Trib enhances physical & sexual performance & energy, potentially supporting male hormone precursors in older male users.
L-Arginine – Get pumped, yo! Arginine is a classic N.O. booster, i.e., circulation enhancer, outmatched only by the next ingredient.
L-Citrulline – Similar to arginine, except believed to possess a higher oral bioavailability, thus providing a harder N.O. boosting punch than arginine.
LJ100 Tongkat Ali Extract – This deserves Tribulus’ spot in this blend for its well-researched abilities to boost “free” T and reduce stress hormone cortisol in aged males.
Asian Ginseng Extract – The Yin-Yang performance enhancer for its simultaneous energizing & relaxing effects. Might improve T status as well but it’s a stretch.
Beta Sitosterols – Inhibits 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme responsible for converting T to DHT, offering significant prostate protection against excess T levels.
CoQ10 – This compound plays a critical role in mitochondrial energy output, potentially assisting muscular stamina & cognitive effort.
Hmm… we feel like we’ve seen this formula before.
Formula Analysis
We HAVE seen this formula before, damn near copy-&-pasted from/to Applied Nutrition’s T-Strong testosterone booster, which deviates only in presentation and “Other Ingredients” listings. Both products share the same positives:
- Quality herbal extracts & mineral forms
- Preference of sex enhancers to T-boosters
- Absurdly affordable price tag
And depending on where you purchase Well Roots Testosterone — Walgreens, Amazon, etc. — the subject of this review may come out cheaper than T-Strong.
Which essentially solves that question, i.e., which should I buy?
But it doesn’t solve the question: Does this formula boost T?
The answer: Ehh, sort of, but not to ball-dropping levels.
As we’ve already pointed out, Well Roots Testosterone demonstrates a preference to sex enhancing ingredients over actual-factual testosterone boosters — although there are legitimate T-boosters in this formula. Well, two legitimate T-boosters: Zinc & Tongkat Ali.
Even so, the male health benefits of this formula are certainly worth the price and may go a long way in terms of physical & sexual male prowess.
Well Roots Testosterone Benefits
Well Roots Testosterone takes the passive claim route, touting the benefits of one of its ingredients rather than the overall formula. The Well Roots Testosterone ingredient singled out + its purported benefit: LJ100® can promote healthy testosterone in the body.
Based on LJ100 research, the claim checks out — at least with regards to aged male users. For the younger men, Tongkat Ali as well as Tribulus et al simply feel good & manly. The nitric oxide benefit also supports this aspect, almost providing a PWO edge to this supplement — however, we recommend simply buying a designated PWO product for more significant, beneficial circulatory pumps.
Who Takes It?
“This product is designed for men of all ages.” Emphasis on men, which typically we don’t need to emphasize, however California Residents Proposition 65 warns against a chemical “known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm” found in this product.
Any Side Effects?
None reported. At least no serious side effects have been reported — the worst we’ve read in the Amazon customer reviews is:
This product is a great supplement for the older male. I found if I took it on empty stomach it gave me upset stomach for a few minutes but then relaxed. Definitely noticed a difference.”
We can definitely live with that.
Well Roots Testosterone Summary
Pros
- Potent Extracts. The herbs are tip-top % std. extract shape.
- Zinc Citrate. The best zinc form and the only B5 favorite in the formula.
- Affordable. Way more servings than T-Strong’s product, too.
Cons
- Weak T. Sex & libido doesn’t necessarily indicate higher T levels.
- Prop Blend. What are the damn dosages, dogg??
- Copy-Cat. Either Well Roots is copying Applied Nutrition or vice versa.

Final Word on Well Roots Testosterone
What began as a Well Roots Testosterone review transitioned midway into a Well Roots Testosterone vs. T-Strong comparative review. There is no comparison: They’re the same. And aside from the comparison, the formula is pretty good, at least for physical & sexual male health. But for BIG T levels? Meh, you can do better. Like Best5 Testosterone Supplements better.
