Tongkat Ali Extract, 200 mg

The “jack” part of Testojack, Tongkat Ali (otherwise known as Longjack) has a legendary reputation as an herbal aphrodisiac throughout traditional Southeast Asian medicines.

Literally meaning “Stick of Man,” Tongkat Ali has achieved growing fame in the male health community for its potent effects on male sex hormones and, consequently, male sexual health. In terms of testosterone, it works as T-booster by increasing DHEA (precursor in T synthesis), inhibiting aromatase, promoting LH-stimulation of T production, and reducing “stress hormone” cortisol.

Organic Maca Root 6:1 Concentrate, 500 mg

Moving from Malaysia to Peru, we have Maca, another popular aphrodisiac vegetable with strong associations with male strength, vitality, & virility.

Unlike TA, Maca doesn’t do much for T, but its powerful effects on sex drive and physical performance warrant its use in any male-driven formula. Epimedium Extract (min. 3% Icariin), 250 mg

One day a Chinese goat farmer noticed his goats were friskier than usual after eating the leaves of natural growing plant. Consequently, the plant was dubbed Horny Goat Weed (more professionally known as Epimedium) and immediately put into Traditional Chinese Medicine when it was found to make humans horny as well.

While the underlying mechanisms of HGW are relatively unclear, its believed to work as a T mimic, imitating a range of effects unique to T-boosters—two of which include enhanced male libido & virility.

Icariin, the active constituent of HGW, determines the efficacy of Epimedium with a recommended standardization at 10% Icariin. Testojack has 3% Icariin at 250 mg per serving—it’s quality, but we’d like it a little stronger.

Tribulus Terrestris, 250 mg

This spiny fruit located in China has a long history for a number of health conditions. Its rejuvenating effects on muscle strength & sexual potency earn it a top spot among other premium natural sex enhancers. Tribulus’ indirect support of male sex hormones creates for an effective anabolic muscle metabolism in the body. It’s not really a great T-booster, but has a strong reputation for manly health.

The “Round Out” Ingredients

The remaining ingredients—American Ginseng, Panax Ginseng, & Muira Puama—are quoted by Testojack as the “round out” herbs of the formula for benefits on energy. Due to the similar structure between American & Panax Ginseng, its justified to believe that their combined 150 mg dosage may have a positive effect on male hormones & sexual health—however, herbal combos don’t necessarily work this way. Muira Puama is a solid energizing, sexual choice in this formula, and we like its concentrated 12:1 extract potency (and wish the Ginseng were similarly enhanced).

Formula Analysis

Testojack’s list of ingredients is impressive. For a self-identified vegetarian sex-enhancing formula, Testojack hits all the right notes with these legendary aphrodisiac botanicals that have their roots sunk in both anecdotal history & clinical research.

Cutting the formula in half, leaving the first four mentioned ingredients would accomplish Testojack’s claims on “healthy sexual activity and overall vitality”—hell, the first three ingredients would do this. As you go down the list though, the dosages get weaker. So we’re not sure if every one will hit “Critical Mass,” though you can always double up.

While we’d rather see Testojack 200 up the dosages on all of its chosen ingredients (because they’re all awesome) rather than reduce its number of ingredients, we’d be just as fine without the “round out” herbs if it meant heavier dosages on TA, Maca, HGW, & Tribulus. And of course, higher potency extracts and standardized herbs would make us feel better about the dosages.

Overall, it is very cool to see Testojack 200 because it is like an All-Star team of sex-boosters. But once again, the testosterone benefits are understated, and are not the main focus of this formula.

As a male supplement that doesn’t market itself as a T-booster, Testojack 200 is receiving a lot of slack from this review. If it had claimed to boost testosterone, it’d probably fail by Best5 standards—because Testojack 200 is a mild T-booster.

Instead, Testojack’s botanical formula targets a “dynamic one-two punch for the overall promotion of reproductive health and sexual drive.” This primarily entails:

• Increased libido.
• Enhanced virility.
• Optimized male sex hormones.
• Reduced cortisol levels.
• Boosted energy levels.

We also must point out, the Vegetarian Status of the formula is a benefit within itself for its high safety profile and band of secondary benefits that comes with the other various compounds found in plant ingredients.

Who Takes It?

Any Side Effects?

None reported. Which works both as a benefit of the vegetarian design and a negative of the plants’ low dosages. Even so, Testojack might have an even safer and more tolerable profile if all of its herbal ingredients were offered in premium standardized or concentrated extract form. But we’re sorta beating a dead horse on these points now, aren’t we?
