In the 70s, big-time Bronx DJ Afrika Bambaataa promoted breakdancing as a non-violent solution for NY gangs to settle disputes. The idea being to imitate fighting without actually fighting, repping skill rather than nines.
TestoFuel vs. Status is the supplement equivalent of breakdancing.
The battle between these T-boosters doesn’t quite ascend to the heavy, murderous, blood-shedding hits of say Prime Male vs Nugenix, but instead moves somewhere in the middle—breaking to the same beat of sex-enhancing, anabolic Fenugreek & ZMA combos.
Both flex solid T-boosting skill—yet, a quick look at those Supp Facts immediately shows that one T-booster has more moves than the other.

Round 1: Formulas
Both TestoFuel & Status are formulated for the younger BROS seeking T-boosts with additional support in sex & performance. Right off the bat, one of these T-boosters looks better than the other, but we’ll see how the figures figure by the end of this round.
TestoFuel targets Young Bodybuilding.
There’s a reason TestoFuel ranks at #4 on our 2016 ed. Best5 Testosterone Supplements: Its formula smartly addresses T-boosting by combining 9 science-backed ingredients, 3 of which top our BIG LIST of Best5 T-Boosters—DAA, D3, and Zinc.
And the best part—These T-boosters do much more than boost T:
- The ZMA combo instills a sports nutritional element to this formula, promoting better muscle recovery, strength and size, lean muscle, and sleep.
- Panax Ginseng & Fenugreek balance each other out in regards to another manly hormone DHT—whereas Fenugreek inhibits DHT synthesis, Ginseng promotes it. The result is increased T & enhanced performance with minimal (male) hormonal side effects.
Additionally, on top of the libido boosts that come naturally with elevated testosterone, the herbs (especially Fenugreek) make the sex-enhancements more immediate & apparent.
Rounding out the formula is the Oyster Extract, which reinforces the anabolic effects of TestoFuel with additional Zinc, Magnesium, and B6—admittedly, on its own, Oyster Extract doesn’t amount to much, but the potential T-synergy it provides is definitely worth it.
While TestoFuel looks suitable for a younger bodybuilding crowd, that doesn’t mean that older users couldn’t also benefit from this intelligently crafted formula.
Status boosts T by 178%?
Nooooo, no it does not…
Does Status boost any T? Sure.
In this formula we’re looking at another well-placed ZMA combo and 2 rather male-healthy herbs: Fenugreek & LongJack (Eurycoma longifolia). Combined, this adds up to only one of our top Best5 T-boosters (Zinc), but we’d be full of ish to say this formula is inadequate for boosting testosterone.
And the rest of the formula has a few shiny spots as well:
- Saw Palmetto doesn’t necessarily boost T, but it’s great for prostate health—which, in turn, promotes healthy sexual/urinary function.
- Estrogen Inhibitors reveal a strong sense of consideration on the manufacturers’ part—not only do E-blockers indirectly boost T, but they create safer hormonal profiles (unfortunately, resveratrol & chrysin aren’t the best, or even good, options here).
- Enhanced nutrient absorption due to Black Pepper, Fumarate, and Succinate, increasing the overall effects of this formula.
Yet, we’re held up by a couple of RED FLAGS that greatly lower our trust in Status: 1) The DV on Magnesium is wrong (180 mg is actually 45% DV), which is just sloppy, and 2) “Clinically proven” is a blatant lie—Status has not undergone any clinical trials making this and the “178% More Testosterone” statements completely false.
We were rooting for you, Status, but your lies… they cut us deep…
Plus TestoFuel just has a better formula than you.
Round 1… TestoFuel Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
What can we say here when TestoFuel shows all of its dosages and Status does not?
First of all, we can say Thank you, TestoFuel and then proceed to disappointedly & slowly turn away from Status to hide the single tear rolling down our faces (you’re cutting us deep, Status…).
From what we can see, TestoFuel’s dosages look purdy good:
- Vitamins & minerals. Solid (except for Zinc—more on that in a bit).
- D-Aspartic Acid. Heavy 2300 mg.
However, we’d like to see a little more effort on those herbs (Panax & Fenugreek), which are slacking in the mg department.
If we’re to take Status’ website as Gospel, then they’re using the “clinically validated doses” on their ingredients… Unfortunately, their track-record with Honesty doesn’t hold up well (also, why hide solid dosages under a prop blend?).
With 1088 mg to share throughout its prop blend, there’s definitely enough room for every ingredient to have effect—especially since the XD Delivery Technology items require little to nothing.
Both supplements’ ZMA combos are a little strange, however: We see a huge emphasis on Magnesium (Magnesium and B6 for Status), which is fine (we like these ingredients), but TestoFuel & Status neglects their Zinc content (the best T-boosting mineral) with meh 10 & 12 mg dosages, respectively…
If we’re only comparing ZMA (the only thing Status shows us), we’d give this round to Status… But, considering that TestoFuel reveals all of its dosages—which look good for the most part—we’re slapping another win on TestoFuel.
Round 2… TestoFuel Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
Believe it or not, we’re looking at a close one here.
But for the wrong reason: Both TestoFuel & Status have pretty boring ingredient forms. Where’s the mojo, baby?
Both formulas use the wrong forms of B6 (P-5-P is better), Magnesium & Zinc (we prefer Citrate for both), and give us absolutely zero standardizations on those herbs.
Okay, that’s not true: Status’ branded form of Fenugreek is standardized to an impressive 80% grecunin. This is vastly superior to TestoFuel’s plain, low-dose Fenugreek, so we have to give props to Status for at least paying considerate attention to its primary T-booster.
Other than that, we have nothing nice to say here—and you know what they say about having nothing nice to say…
In terms of ingredient forms, Status earns one mojo point over TestoFuel’s zero.
Round 3… Status Wins.
Round 4: Price
TestoFuel | VS. | Status | ||
1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $65.00 | 1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $69.99
Price Per Capsule | $0.54 | Price Per Capsule | $0.58
Price Per Serving | $2.17 | Price Per Serving | $2.33 |
Round 4… TestoFuel Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
Whoomp there it is: TestoFuel – 3 : Status – 1.
No need to pull out the calculator to figure out this one. TestoFuel wins.
But what’s interesting about this fight isn’t so much how TestoFuel is straight-up better than Status (It is), but how Status shot itself in the foot numerous times with its RED FLAG behavior (wrong DV listed, “clinically proven” BS) and its prop blend shenanigans.
Honestly, if it weren’t for these things, Status could have stood a chance with its superior ZMA combo (although it’s not the best) and its superior Fenugreek (although TestoFuel has more, better T-boosters).
…Okay, now that we say (write) these things out loud, TestoFuel would’ve still won—but, still, a big part of us wants to believe in Status, namely because it has the potential to be a bona fide supplement.
Does Status boost T? Probably.
Does TestoFuel boost T? Definitely.
And that’s perhaps the biggest difference between these T-boosters.
In the TestoFuel vs. Status fight, the winner by KO is…
