Sorry, peasants. The Cellucor kings have spoken.
And they demand payments up front — no loans or in-store credit.
If you’re wondering WTF we’re blabbering about, scroll down to Round 4 of this comparison review, then scroll back up here and say with us: WTF?!!?? At those prices, these testosterone boosters better come with a Rolls Royce and mail-order bride.
And if they don’t come with either, they better at least boost testosterone. That’s not too much to ask, right? Let’s read the remaining rounds to find out.

Round 1: Formulas
Proprietary blends. Ingredient brands. Sheep placenta.
These are definitely Cellucor P6 products. Let’s see which one’s the better (or if they’re essentially the same supplement), starting with:
P6 Xtreme: Brains, Brawn, and Balls
Cellucor P6 Xtreme takes an extremely layered approach towards advanced anabolic gains with its 5-in-1 proprietary blend. Those five layers being:
- Testosterone Boosters – Ashwagandha, Tribulus alatus, Ovine Placenta
- Focus and Mood Support – Alpha-GPC, Zembrin
- Estrogen Regulator – Agaricus bisporus (White Button Mushroom)
- DHT and Prostate Support – Saw Palmetto, Stinging Nettle
- Sexual Health and Energy – Tongkat Ali
Extremely layered, yet how extreme are the layers individually?
Mehhh, they’re aight. For an extreme testosterone booster, P6 Xtreme surprisingly misses out on many of the extreme testosterone booster ingredients, e.g., D-Aspartic Acid, Zinc, Mucuna pruriens… Ashwgandha may boost testosterone. Tongkat Ali may boost testosterone.
And that’s about it!
Adding Alpha-GPC and Zembrin notches in a nootropic angle to this formula, but even so …why not go for gold and give us the noots that actually benefit bodybuilders? E.g., Rhodiola, N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine… By stretching in five different directions, P6 Xtreme achieves an impressive hybrid test booster design, but fails to reach far enough on any of those pathways.
P6 Ultimate: Performance and Pump
P6 Ultimate follows a fairly standard Cellucor P6 design, sharing roughly the same ingredients with P6 Xtreme: Ashwagandha, Ovine Placenta, Agaricus bisporus, Stinging Nettle, Tongkat Ali, Alpha-GPC, and Zembrin. Yet, P6 Ultimate takes it up a slight notch by also including the popular sex enhancing herb Fenugreek as well as the BIG List of T-Boosters topper Vitamin D.
In terms of formula design, P6 Ultimate takes a much tighter approach to male enhancement, trimming its hybrid levels down to three:
- Testosterone – Aswagandha, Fenugreek, Tongkat Ali, and more.
- Muscle Pumps – N.O. boosters Nitrosigine and Arginine.
- Cognition – via Alpha-GPC and Zembrin
The nitric oxide booster brands of L-arginine may elevate P6 Ultimate to bodybuilding PWO status, qualifying it as an effective pre-workout performance enhancer as well as a more long-term muscle recovery booster (via Fenugreek).
While P6 Ultimate doesn’t work as the most extreme or ultimate testosterone booster, it is more extreme and ultimate than P6 Xtreme, earning it the Round 1 win.
Round 1… P6 Ultimate Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
Another Cellucor standard: the proprietary blend.
And both P6 Xtreme and P6 Ultimate have it. Howeva…
P6 Xtreme only has one proprietary blend:
- P6 Xtreme™ Blend – 2600 mg shared by nine ingredients, allowing for a potential average 288.9 mg per ingredient.
Whereas P6 Ultimate has two proprietary blends:
- P6® Testosterone and Performance Blend – 2275 mg for seven ingredients, allowing for a potential average 325 mg per ingredient.
- P6 Ultimate™ Cognitive and Pump Blend – 1225 mg for four ingredients, allowing for a potential average 306.3 mg per ingredient.
While taking the disappointing proprietary route, P6 Ultimate outperforms P6 Xtreme in Round 2 by doing two things: 1) showing two dosages for a little more transparency than P6 Xtreme’s one dosage, and 2) supplying more milligrams overall for a higher mg per ingredient average.
Thus, the Round 2 winna:
Round 2… P6 Ultimate Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
In this reviews, Cellucor tends to make up for its Round 2 sins in the third round: Ingredient Quality — by supplying generally premium, powerful ingredient options. In both supplements, we’re seeing branded Ashwgandha (Adaptatest for P6 Xtreme, KSM-66 for P6 Ultimate), AlphaSize branded Alpha-GPC, Zembrin, and LJ100 branded Tongkat Ali.
Even the non-branded ingredients are looking pretty solid in both formulas as well. P6 Xtreme does something particularly impressive by opting for the Tribulus alatus form over the far more common Tribulus terrestris species — the latter doesn’t seem to boost testosterone whereas the former might do so.
The capsules could be cleaner in both supplements, yet we’re not concerned with any major side effects or red flag results. Both Cellucor products are generally natural and safe.
All-in-all, the P6 Xtreme vs. P6 Ultimate comparison review hits a solid equilibrium in this round. Props to Cellucor.
Round 3… Tied.
Round 4: Price
P6 Xtreme | VS. | P6 Ultimate
1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $169.99 | 1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $159.99
Price Per Capsule | $1.42 | Price Per Capsule | $1.07
Price Per Serving | $5.67 | Price Per Serving | $5.33 |
Both Cellucor supplements reach equilibrium in Round 4 as well, this time not to the customer’s benefit but to Cellucor’s. Holy f*ckin’ snikeys.
Round 4… Cellucor Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
Cellucor customer reviews tend to be a little wonky, due to the manufacturer’s immense popularity. For either supplement, the customers either love or hate the results. Here at Best5, we’ve landed somewhere in the middle on each product.
Why? Because we’re anti-conformist AF.
No — because these supplements simultaneously impress with their design, yet disappoint with their ingredient choices. The effort ranking these supplements somewhere in the middle of our 5-star ratings.
However, what we can’t get over are their prices. Who wants to buy a $150+ supplement every single month?? Especially in the 2017 market, which holds much better testosterone boosters for much less.
Not to attack you Cellucor fans. You do you. But while you’re doing you, do P6 Ultimate, too. It’s better than P6 Xtreme, and slightly less expensive.
