See that gorilla? See that look of evolved ape-like determination?
See that massive, red chest?
That and more can all be yours if you supplement a testosterone booster that isn’t Prime Labs Alpha Boost. Because Alpha Boost simply doesn’t have the boosts. Judging by the advertised mistakes on this product, we’re not overly confident in this one.
However, looks aren’t everything, right?
Let’s see if this is a gorilla powered stack or a stack formulated by gorillas.

About Alpha Boost
Manufactured by Prime Labs, Alpha Boost is simply advertised as a “Testosterone Booster” — straight to the point. We like it. But the important question: Does Alpha Boost actually boost testosterone? Formula notes:
- ALPHA BOOST Blend: With exception to one ingredient (Calcium), the Alpha Boost formula is hidden away in a dosage masking proprietary blend.
- Boron: The best ingredient in the formula is a simple manly mineral believed to balance T & estrogen levels for bigger gains.
- Sloppy Design: Misspelled words, poor ingredient choices, missing “Other Ingredients” list… Prime Labs needs better interns.

Quit monkeying around and show us the dosages!
Of the nine ingredients, only one is shown with full transparency (Calcium) and it’s one that we don’t particularly care for, at least in a review on a testosterone booster. Now if it were Vitamin D or Zinc or, even better, ZMA, then hell ya, doods, let’s talk.
But it’s not, so let’s move on the meaty portion of this product:
ALPHA BOOST Blend, 1484 mg
Prime Labs, you dirty doggs. Just had to go the proprietary blend route. Tsk-tsk, alright, time for some intense calculation: 1484 mg overall to cover 8 ingredients, allowing for a potential average of 185.5 mg. That’s actually not bad, but it’s also not great. Especially considering the quality & choice of this blend’s first ingredient:
Horney [sic] Goat Weed – The misspelling here makes us angrey, yet the plain powder form of this T-mimicking sex enhancer makes us even angreyer — HGW extract is the superior option.
Tongkat Ali Extract 100:1 – Now there’s an extract, at a potent 100:1 bioactivity, and for an herb that doesn’t mimic T but increase “free” T while reducing stress hormone cortisol.
Saw Palmetto Extract – Believed to inhibit 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme responsible for converting T to DHT, potentially protecting the prostate against excess T levels.
Orchic Substance – Extract from cow testicles (that’s right) consumed for healthy testicular function, although research is weak on this point.
Wild Yam Extract – Another questionable ingredient, claimed to increase natural DHEA levels, but, uh… we’ve seen nothing on this. On the contrary, Wild Yam has a stronger reputation for menopausal women’s health.
Sarsparilla [sic] – Angrey. Sarsaparilla is commonly found in soda, occasionally supplemented under the belief that it operates as an ergogenic steroid. We see no evidence of this.
Nettle Extract – Reputation as a prostate protector leads some to view Nettle as a valid T-booster. Some research points to this, although the evidence just isn’t there yet. Still a decent herb for male health.
Boron (as Boron Amino Acid Chelate) – The #5 guy on our BIG List of T-Boosters, Boron does increase testosterone in support of a healthier T:estrogen balance.
Altogether, one BIG booster (Boron), one decent booster (Tongkat Ali), and a whole lot of mehhh mixed at unknown individual dosages.
Formula Analysis
Let’s start with the positives of this formula because there’s actually a few:
- The 2 Caplets two times directive is a solid daily intake.
- The potential 185.5 mg per ingredient (x2) ain’t bad.
- The 100:1 TA extract & Boron A.A. Chelate are bangin’.
The high points of this formula’s T-boosting potential are clearly the Tongkat Ali & Boron, whereas the rest of the ingredients are generally… well, lame. Saw Palmetto & Stinging Nettle may offer prostate protection, an obviously important aspect of prime male health, but Horny Goat Weed? This is a good sex enhancer but not an effective T-booster, and thus shouldn’t be prioritized at the number one spot in the blend.
Also, speaking of “Horney” Goat Weed, the Supplement Facts & product design are sloppy:
- Ingredients are misspelled (even on the website)
- Ingredient dosages are hidden
- The “Other Ingredients” are completely missing
Despite the cool-looking macho red gorilla, this product simply doesn’t look good from a quality standpoint. We question how much of this was intentional vs. incompetence.
Alpha Boost Benefits
The bulletin-point target benefits listed by Prime Labs w/r/t Alpha Boost include:
- Energy & Stamina
- Lean Muscle Build
- Sex Drive & Libido
Sex drive seems like a valid claim, given the first two ingredients in the blend: Horny Goat Weed & Tongkat Ali. The latter ingredient’s balance on T:cortisol may contribute to a leaner muscle build, yet we’re not entirely sure how much contribution given the proprietary status of Alpha Boost’s blend.
Who Takes It?
Big Apes. The toe-head types looking to get BIG & lean while maintaining alpha male levels of strength, stamina, & energy. Ironically, herbs like Horny Goat Weed & Tongkat Ali seem to primarily benefit older men more so than the young bucks.
Any Side Effects?
Nope. We haven’t read of any adverse side effects on Alpha Boost’s Amazon customer reviews. In actuality, most of the reviews are generally positive.

Final Word on Alpha Boost
Quality & quantity are the basic measures of a Best5 product review, and Alpha Boost scores poorly in each category. The quantity issue could easily be rectified by tossing the proprietary blend, proving to us that the dosages are truly adequate. But until then, we’ll be setting this aside for our more proven batch of T-booster supplements. Curious? Click here to learn more.
