Round 1: Formulas
Prime Male & Nugenix both feature formulas that target maturing males who are already in some T-Decline.
But Prime Male’s formula has more of a laser-focus on testosterone alone as the key to unlocking all sorts of manly benefits. And with all our Best 5 T-Boosters in their formula – D-Aspartic-Acid, Zinc, Mucuna Pruriens, Vitamin D, and Boron — Prime Male is a dominant T-boosting force.
But what makes Prime Male’s formula especially powerful is the ingredient synergy; its active compounds boost T from many angles and multiply each other’s benefits. By using great forms, Prime Male ups the T-boosting activity further… but more on that in a couple of rounds.
Nugenix targets older males’ testosterone needs too, but sacrifices a bit on the testosterone end by including two herbal ingredients — Epimedium (Horny Goat Weed) & Maca — which are great for boosting sex drive, but not really T-Boosters.
Nugenix keeps on stacking with potent forms of Fenugreek and Tongkat Ali, which are excellent test-libido herbs, and really loads up with 3 g of balls-out T-boosting DAA.
As great as Nugenix is, it has a major shortcoming because it is missing Zinc, which would have advanced both testosterone AND libido for the formula.
This round is close. Really close. Both supplements have fantastic formulas.
But in the end we have to hand it to Prime Male; their ingredient synergy game is compelling and they keep their eyes fixed on the prize: Higher testosterone levels.
Round 1… Prime Male Wins
Round 2: Dosages
No prop blends here: every dosage from Prime Male and Nugenix is clear as day. Bonus points for both supplements!
But good overall dosing is just part of the picture when we have two elite-caliber formulas facing off. When both bring such high-quality stacks to the table, it gets a little harder to figure out superior dosages. Check out this one ingredient example that both formulas have:
- Prime Male: Mucuna pruriens, 300 mg, standardized to 15% L-DOPA = 45 mg active T-boosting L-DOPA total
- Nugenix: Mucuna pruriens, 125 mg, standardized to 40% L-DOPA = 50 mg active T-boosting L-DOPA total
SO, while Prime Male looks to have a dosage advantage with its 300 mg Mucuna vs. Nugenix’s 125 mg, Nugenix actually supplies a higher potency of the active ingredient.
This is why we wrote a guide on How To Buy A Good Supplement, Bros.
When it comes to DAA, our #1-ranked T-booster, dosage superiority is also a little muddy.
Nugenix seems to steal the show with their 3,000 mg serving of DAA, but Prime Male uses DAA in its preferred, enhanced-absorption D-AA-CC form, while still supplying a fat 1,600 mg dosage.
It’s just too tough to call. One thing is for sure, both Prime Make and Nugenix are made to work, with Critical Mass Dosages across the board. But when it comes to judging this round…
Round 2… It’s a DRAW.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
First things first, let’s repeat it from last round: Prime Male uses D-AA-CC; stronger than the plain DAA found in Nugenix.
Prime Male also uses Boron, another top-rated T-Booster, as Boron Amino Acid Chelate, a form that is superior to Nugenix’s Boron Citrate (which is still OK). Prime Male’s Zinc Citrate is another preferred-form mineral T-Booster.
Seeing a trend? One of the reasons Prime Male is #1 is because they default to superior ingredients, with 11 out of 12 presented in preferred, enhanced, or absorption-optimized form.
Then, Prime Male enhances ALL of those choice ingredients with BioPerine, a premium black pepper extract that boosts absorption of the entire formula. Nice.
But Nugenix isn’t letting this round go without a few punches.
Nugenix goes hard with 4 out of their 8 ingredients in preferred form. This includes the aforementioned intense 40% L-DOPA Mucuna, off-the-charts 100:1 Tongkat Ali extract, 50% saponin-standardized Fenugreek, and 4:1 Horny Goat Weed extract.
Both of these formulas are superior quality. But one brings that quality in more varied ways…
Round 3… Prime Male Wins
Round 4: Price

Price Per capsule | $0.58 | Price Per capsule | $0.75 | |
Price Per serving | $2.30 | Price Per serving | $3.00 |
Round 4… Prime Male Wins
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
By no means was this an easy fight.
Prime Male vs. Nugenix are both powerfully stacked with premium ingredients, big dosages, and smart formula strategies.
Both supplements share similar ingredients; not shocking since their target demographic is men age 30+ with more refined testosterone needs. Make no mistake, they’re equally matched.
But all it takes is one misstep to get knocked out. And Nugenix makes a couple of missteps that leave it exposed to a vicious Prime Male uppercut.
Nugenix is missing Zinc. Huge mistake. Plus, Nugenix supplies sex-boosters that do NOT target T. This is not a horrible miscue or anything; it’s just that Prime Male likely achieves almost as much sex-boosting power via its superior targeted support of peak testosterone.
If you’re more interested in sexual performance enhancement, Nugenix might be your victor. But remember, this is a fight for the best Testosterone Booster… which makes an incredibly close fight a little easier to judge.

would it be crazy to stack these two together?
