When you hear the word “ape” you don’t think about a small monkey eating a banana.
You imagine one badass angry primate out to take you down like the ones in Planet of the Apes movie.
That is why we instantly thought about going alpha the moment we saw a T-booster called APE.
Unfortunately, Athletic Edge doesn’t seem to have actual apes in mind with this formula; their “APE” stands for “Alpha Performance Enhancer.”
Let’s find out and see if APE is as Alpha as it claims to be.

About APE
Made by Athletic Edge, APE is a T-booster for manly health, but also a PWO in the gym: It increases testosterone and nitric oxide (NO) at the same time. To get there, Athletic Edge makes use of effective, no-nonsense ingredients — which they pretty much have to do if they want their trademarked slogan “SUBSTANCE OVER HYPE” to actually mean something. Formula notes:
- GlycoCarn®: A premium NO-booster. Not for testosterone, but it fits APE’s test-PWO hybrid formula philosophy, and is the formula’s biggest dose.
- Quality Ingredients: More high-end, branded testosterone boosters TestoSURGE and EuryGold along with a potent concentrated Maca extract.
- BSCG Certified: You won’t have any problems passing drug tests with APE: It has been certified to be free of banned substances by a third party.

Vitamins and Minerals
APE uses enhanced forms of some nutrients here, like P-5-P vitamin B6, methylcobalamin B12, zinc aspartate and D3. The dosages, however, seem a little low across the board on these basics.
Still, we give props to APE for including many of the “foundation” vitamins & minerals for healthy testosterone; all that’s missing is magnesium and K2.
APE Pro-Testosterone/Anti-Estrogen Complex Blend, 1305 mg
Here’s where things get a little more exciting.
GlycoCarn. As we’ve mentioned, it’s one of the best ingredients for boosting N.O. Which is good and all but why does APE — a testosterone formula — supply more of this PWO ingredient than its actual T-boosters, like TestoSurge?
TestoSurge. A novel branded ingredient extracted from Fenugreek and standardized to 80% grecunin, one of the active ingredients in Fenugreek. We consider this a premium & potent T-booster, and while it’s the 2nd biggest dose of the formula, we can’t help but to think it should be the biggest.
Maca. It’s not really a T-booster, but a fairly well-established sex drive and physical performance enhancer. The 4:1 extract form concentrates maca root so you get more active compounds per serving.
Indole-3 Carbinol. Better known as I3C, is the precursor to Diindoylymethane, an aromatase inhibitor that helps block conversion of T to estrogen.
EuryGold. A premium quality Tongkat Ali extract, standardized to two different active compounds to deliver guaranteed nutritional activity. Tonkat Ali is not one of the best T-boosters, but it’s legitimate — it is far more popular and evidence-backed as a male sexual performance enhancer.
Bioperine. Yeahhhh, you go, APE! Here is yet another premium ingredient; a black pepper extract standardized to 95% active piperine, which helps to boost the absorption and bioavailability of all other ingredients in the APE formula.
Formula Analysis
APE is a T-booster highlighted for its ability to boost T, enhance NO, and promote muscular endurance.
From the looks of the formula, the Bros at Athletic Edge may have achieved exactly that with their APE formula.
It’s awesome to see that Athletic Edge gives a damn: This is not a hastily slapped-together mash-up of male performance herbs. No, APE is way better than that — you can tell there is a lot of thought behind their formulation.
Then, they take a good shot at turning theory into reality by providing premium, potent, high-end & branded ingredients, all over the label.
They start off with GlycoCarn® and Maca for pumps and physical performance, TestoSurge , EuryGold, and I3C for a smart-synergy T-boost, and wrap it all up with Bioperine for enhanced bioavailability (which may even offset the less than optimal dosages of their vitamins and minerals).
Our one concern is APE’s dosages. The basic vitamins and minerals are low-end, and not very exciting. More troubling is the APE proprietary blend, which divides 6 ingredients into a serving size just over 1300 mg.
Usually we assume the worst about prop blends; that they are hiding underdosed ingredients. But in this case, APE’s use of enhanced-potency extracts and absorption-boosting BioPerine tells us that they are taking steps to max out the activity of each ingredient in the formula.
So for now we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and imagine most of APE’s ingredients hit a decent dosage.
With this kind of formulation and design, APE is looking to be a formidable T-Booster with a lot of PWO-like benefits — which probably meets the needs of Bros seeking a more hybrid-style T-Booster formula.
Aping Around with APE
We’ve got a monkey on our back. You could even say it an 800-pound gorilla. If the formula is APE, then where’s the damn apes, Athletic Edge??
We know, we know, APE stands for Alpha Performance Enhancer. But what a waste of an icon — Powerful, athletic, stoic and unnaturally fixated on sexy blonde human girls, the Ape is an enduring symbol of raging testosterone & primal masculinity.
Check out these great testosterone-driven Alpha Apes that APE could have used in their marketing campaigns:
APE Benefits
Thanks to the leading ingredient — GlycoCarn — mad pumps and peak workout performance are likely the most noticable APE benefits, at least to start. Once the testosterone benefits kick in, overall manly health will be enhanced; strength, anabolic activity, energy, etc. The LongJack and Maca are legendary sex-boosters, so we are confident APE will enhance your libido & stamina, too.
Who Takes It?
APE is made for gym rats who want to add PWO activity to their T-booster formula. It’s a hybrid-style formula, and may appeal to bros who already like to stack & combine nutrients to unlock masculine health.
Any Side Effects?
User complaints include mild diarrhea, outbreaks of acne, and sometimes sleeplessness. But really, we think the APE formula is excellent for tolerability. There’s no crazy stimulants, and almost every main ingredient is premium quality. Usually this means less side effects.

Final Word on APE
APE is a hybrid PWO/T-booster with a side of sex enhancement. They don’t hold back on using the right premium ingredients, which is why this stack WORKS at “enhancing your Alpha.” The only drawback is we don’t know APE dosages, but that shouldn’t deter you from trying out this otherwise excellent test booster.
