Testosterone UP vs. Testosterone UP Red represents a nearly mirror-like match up between two Irwin Naturals manufactured testosterone boosters. However, listing these products solely as testosterone boosters fails the paint the full picture on these boosters, which also assist with DHT levels, N.O. activity, and more.
Really, it might be too close of a match up to confidently conclude that one is better than the other. Yet, depending on your particular needs — prostate protection? circulation? etc. — you may leave this Testosterone UP vs. Testosterone UP Red review 100% sure which one best suits your style. So, let’s get on with its and read the review.

Formula Comparison
Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red deliver significant T-to-DHT balance and PWO nitric oxide (N.O.) boosts, respectively.
With both supplements sharing the same base title (Testosterone UP), you’d reasonably expect each formula to share the same base ingredients. And for the most part they do, especially given that each product’s softgels are primarily filled with MCT.
However, it’s the differences in their chosen testosterone boosters and other male enhancers that make all the difference between Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red. Of which the latter seeks to revamp the original formula with a more PWO design. But before we tackle their differences, let’s first check out what binds these supplements.
How are Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red formulas similar?
The hefty Medium Chain Triglyceride dosages are a big one. In fact, it’s the biggest similarity between these formulas, with Testosterone UP carrying a sizable 900 mg and Testosterone UP Red supplying more than double: 2400 mg.
Now, is MCT a good testosterone booster? No. It may possess fat burning bio-activities, but as far as male health goes MCT doesn’t do anything special. Rather it’s likely that their MCT acts primarily as the suspension oil for their softgel pill design. However, in terms of male enhancing ingredients, both products share sex enhancing Tribulus and Ginseng, in addition to a standardized extract of Beta Sitosterol.
How are Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red formulas different?
Testosterone UP compounds the DHT reducing bio-activity of Beta Sitosterol with Pumpkin Seed Oil, Stinging Nettle Extract, and Gamma Oryzanol. As such, Testosterone UP provides better prostate protection than Testosterone UP Red, which instead focuses on Nitric Oxide (N.O.) boosts.
What is N.O. boosting good for? Well, a couple things:
- Exercise Performance and Pumps
- Sexual Health and Performance
With L-Citrulline, Testosterone UP Red may increase vasodilation for better blood flow throughout the body. A key health benefit in the later years when circulation takes a dive, as well as an ergogenic boost for bodybuilders and other athletes who enjoy that extra muscle pump to their exercise.
Testosterone UP vs. Testosterone UP Red: Unique Benefits
Testosterone UP provides better prostate protection.
While Testosterone UP Red delivers some prostate protection with its Beta Sitosterol, Testosterone UP ups it up further with more prostate protecting herbal extracts and compounds. Granted, this comes at the cost of its direct testosterone boosting power, missing out on most of the best testosterone boosters. What’s worse: Testosterone UP sneaks in a bit of Chrysin, which does nothing for testosterone when consumed orally. (Needs to be injected directly into the testes to work.)
But as far as male health supplements go, Testosterone UP goes pretty far. Even if it doesn’t have the biggest, ballsiest testosterone boosters.
Testosterone UP Red boosts N.O. for PWO muscle gains.
Testosterone UP Red does revamp the original formula a bit with its N.O. boosting action. With 1500 mg L-Citrulline, Testosterone UP Red accomplishes significant boosts on vascular muscle pumps, electrifying this formula supplement with acute increases on exercise performance. Furthermore, Testosterone UP Red brings the Ginkgo at a potent standardized extract, which may further assist with circulation.
Some users even qualify Ginkgo as a nootropic herb for its well-demonstrated benefits on working memory. A smart addition to an already finely crafted formula.
- Testosterone UP protects the prostate, Testosterone UP Red enhances circulation. Both supplements accomplish their design well, even if the test boosts are somewhat skimpy.
Dosage Comparison
We first have to give props to Irwin Naturals for doing away with the non-transparent proprietary blends in both Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red. Rather the manufacturers have proudly displayed each ingredient dosage. And they should: They look good.
But it’s worth noting a few key differences in the ingredients shared between these formulas:
Testosterone UP | vs. | Testosterone UP Red
MCT | 900 mg | < | MCT | 2400 mg |
Beta Sitosterol | 300 mg | > | Beta Sitosterol | 150 mg |
Tribulus Extract | 300 mg | > | Tribulus Extract | 200 mg |
Asian Ginseng Extract | 100 mg | > | Asian Ginseng Extract | 30 mg |
Tongkat Ali Extract | 100 mg | = | Tongkat Ali Extract | 100 mg |
BioPerine Complex | 6 mg | = | BioPerine Complex | 6 mg |
So, Testosterone UP Red supplies way more MCT than Testosterone UP. But they seem to do so at the expense of other testosterone boosting / DHT reducing / sex enhancing ingredients, namely Beta Sitosterol, Tribulus Extract, and Asian Ginseng Extract.
However, of the ingredients unique to each formula, the dosages remain hefty and solid. And as we already pointed out: transparent.
- MCT important to you? Go for Testosterone UP Red. Prefer Tribulus and Ginseng? Testosterone UP is your guy. Each supplement has solid dosages. Whichever is best depends on your particular interests.
Ingredient Quality Comparison
Testosterone UP has exceptional quality ingredients. And Testosterone UP Red has exceptional quality ingredients. But does one have better quality ingredients than the other? Only one shared ingredient stands out as better in Testosterone UP: Asian Ginseng Extract.
Testosterone UP supplies a fiery hot 80% ginsenosides standardized extract, whereas Testosterone UP Red reduces that count to a measly 4% ginsenosides. Both work, but 80% is obviously much better.
However, aside from that, the ingredients are generally on-point across the board for both Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red. The latter even does us a solid by using the preferred L-Citrulline nitric oxide booster over the less bio-available, yet more popular L-Arginine ingredient.
Not to mention that both supplements carry a few impressive ingredient brands: LJ100, OptiZinc, BioPerine… So, yeah, things are looking pretty good here for both formulas.
- Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red both provide potent herbal extracts, premium ingredient brands, and bio-active compounds. If you want to nit-pick, Testosterone UP also has better Asian Ginseng Extract (at a much better dosage, too).
Nutrient Delivery and Clean Label Comparison
Many supplements don’t give a damn about nutrient delivery, hoping their customers will be happy with their ingredients as is. But Irwin Naturals says, “Nah, we got you, fam,” by sliding in that much welcomed BioPerine Complex into both Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red.
What is the BioPerine Complex? It’s a smart mix of black pepper extract and ginger extract, which help enhance intestinal absorption of nutrients for overall better bio-availability of these supplements. Given the tiny dosage requirements for these extracts (6 mg for the whole complex in this formulas), there’s little reason not to toss a little BioPerine into your supplement.
As far as the “Clean Label Comparison” goes …yeah, sure, these supplements are looking clean and natural enough. While there’s quite a few additives in the “Other Ingredients” listed on each product’s Supplement Facts, they’re not that bad. (Although we generally think less is more when it comes to additives.)
- The BioPerine Complex does a fine job at enhancing nutrient absorption in both supplements. Could the additives use some cleaning up? Sure, but we’re not too bugged out about it for these liquid softgels.
Price Comparison
Testosterone UP | vs. | Testosterone UP Red
1 Bottle; 60 Liquid Softgels (20 servings) | $44.99 | 1 Bottle; 60 Liquid Softgels (15 servings) | $34.99
Price Per Serving | $2.25 | Price Per Serving | $2.33 |
Despite slimming the price down by $10 from the original $44.99, Testosterone UP Red still manages a higher average price per serving at $2.33. Whereas the original formulation splits its 60 liquid softgels into three softgel daily servings, Testosterone UP Red requires four softgels per daily serving.
Needless to say, you’ll run out of your Testosterone UP Red supply much quicker (specifically five days quicker) than the original Testosterone UP bottle. Having said that, you’re also receiving an additional pill per serving, increasing the overall dosage intake. So, perhaps it’s worth the additional $0.08 per serving? (Of course, buying via different retailers, such as Amazon or Walgreens, may greatly change the price for each product.)
- Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red are nearly evenly matched on a price per serving basis, yet Testosterone UP comes out as the more affordable product with its longer lasting supply.
Testosterone UP vs. Testosterone UP Red: Which is Better?
To survive in the 2018 testosterone boosting game, you’ll need either: A) big-time, testicle-stroking testosterone boosters, or B) noticeable, reliable physical/sexual enhancers. (Ideally, your supplement accomplishes both — and, yes, there are supplements that do both.)
Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red do a fine enough job at enhancing physical and sexual performance. Yet, their testosterone boosts sort of take the backseat here.
Not that Testosterone UP and Testosterone UP Red aren’t legitimate testosterone boosters. Both supplements provide testosterone boosting herbs and compounds that work for boosting testosterone. And they provide them in high quality and quantity formats. Yet, where these supplements fail in boosting testosterone, they more than pick up the slack with their other natural male enhancing ingredients.
Is one supplement better than the other? It’s really hard to say. Even after reading over the entire review.
Really, it’ll come down to your particular needs. However, gun to our heads, if we had to choose …we’re going with the newer formula: Testosterone UP Red. Namely because few supplements can pull off the PWO testosterone booster as effectively as this one does, without resorting to caffeine or cheap stimulants.
