Zantrex 3 vs. Zantrex Black is a battle between two awful celebrities who just can’t get their shit together on TV.
It’s like a showdown between the Kardashians and Osbournes. They’re practically the same except one of them likes to wear red and the other, a lot of black.
Zantrex 3 is your typical overblown celebrity who got famous because of being trashy on TV. Zantrex 3 appeals to the new kids who never experienced MTV actually playing music much like first time users of fat burners who buy anything a celebrity endorses. ANYTHING.
Zantrex Black, on the other hand, is the same kind of trashy but this one has a lot of shit coming out of his mouth. Maybe because he was a former singer of a now defunct band but really, the censors are having a ball bleeping just about every word he utters.
We both know these two are trashy but which one of them deserves more air time on MTV? Let’s find out…

Round 1: Formulas
(If you wanna skip ahead and just look at the Best 5 Fat Burner Supplements in the UNIVERSE, well, we won’t blame you, bro.)
Zantrex 3 is like a caffeine pill with weird herbs instead of actual caffeine.
Zantrex 3 starts its blend with Citrus Extract, a popular “weight loss ingredient” but there really isn’t much research about it. It then follows up with Guarana, Coffee Bean, and Kola Extract, three ingredients known to be alternative sources of caffeine. Coffee bean extract made it to our best fat burners list and if they combine all the caffeine they have then they’ll also have our #2 Best Fat Burner in the mix too.
Green Tea Extract is our top fat burner backed by an incredible amount of research on fat loss among other health benefits. After the many stimulating ingredients, Zantrex 3 then adds Kelp which is capable of suppressing appetite and leads to weight loss. Fennel is a known diuretic which leads to “water loss” instead of fat loss but hey, you still lose weight. ALA possesses benefits on weight loss but requires large doses of more than 800 mg.
Zantrex Black is a lot like Zantrex 3 but with actual (and more) caffeine
Zantrex Black’s blend includes Yerba Mate, Guarana, Kola, and Trimethylxanthine which is plain old caffeine in science form, bro. Nothing much to see here except for this being one huge caffeine mix and caffeine is deadly good. Deadly because too much of it can send you to the hospital and good because it burns a lot of fat while you get there.
It also has Green Tea and Black Tea extracts, both powerful ingredients for melting the fat off your double chin. Black tea is also capable of burning fat without reducing insulin sensitivity which means it’s also great for preventing diabetes. Cacao Extract can influence leptin levels and promote a faster metabolism.
Rhodiola, Maca, and Ginseng are all adaptogens meant to reduce the effects of physical stress as well as tame the caffeine monster you’ll be waking up with a serving of Zantrex Black. Schizonepeta is a weird choice as it’s more of an anti-inflammatory herb. Damiana is a pretty neat addition as it works in synergy with yerba mate and guarana to produce an appetite suppressant effect.
Last on its list is Black Pepper which expedites nutrient absorption of every ingredient on this list.
In conclusion of the first round, both formulas look oddly ineffective or too stimulated but if we have to pick one, we’ll go for Zantrex Black because it really seems to be the stronger stuff between the two.
Round 1… Zantrex Black Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
Both these fat burners are in prop blends and the nicest thing we can say about that is it makes it a lot easier for us to skip with the dosage research and assume they got it all wrong. Just kidding! We’re not subjective but when you look at the blends, it’s hard not to immediately banish these two back to where they came from.
Going back, the best way to assess the best dosage is by comparing the ratio between the prop blend weight and the quantity of ingredients of each bottle.
Zantrex 3 has 8 ingredients with a total prop blend weight of 964 mg and scores a thin 0.008 ratio. Zantrex Black gets 13 ingredients with a total prop blend weight of 1160 mg and scores a bigger 0.011 ratio. Even if we were to carefully scrutinize it all, Zantrex Black would still come out victorious by simply having more capsule space for ingredients that matter.
The ruling with prop blends is he who goes first gets the biggest space and Zantrex 3 started sloppily with Citrus Extract while Zantrex Black went with a much better Yerba Mate. Even if Zantrex Black seems to have underdosed on its adaptogens, they’re not the main course of this fat burner meal.
No contest here. Zantrex Black takes it again.
Round 2… Zantrex Black Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
Both Zantrex 3 and Zantrex Black lack any signs of having standardized ingredients so we’ll be reviewing this as if they all have the generic brands. And since we’re going to take this as a battle between two generics, we’ll nitpick on their best and worst choices.
Zantrex 3’s best decision was to add a caffeine mix without caffeine in the form of Guarana, Coffee Bean Extract, Kola, and maybe even Green Tea too. Their worst ingredient choice is ALA which is obviously a fairy dusted ingredient as quality doses are upwards of 500 mg.
Zantrex Black’s best ingredient choices were, again, the caffeine mix made up of Yerba Mate, Guarana, (actual) Caffeine, and Kola extract. Their worst ingredient is Schizonepeta whish is not supposed to be in a fat burner in the first place.
Both caffeine mixes seem effective so it’s the duds that count now and for this Zantrex 3 takes the round. Even if ALA was too small to work, it’s still a legit ingredient in a fat burner.
Round 3… Zantrex 3 Wins.
Round 4: Price
|Zantrex 3||VS.||Zantrex Black|
|1 Bottle (56 capsules)||$39.99||1 Bottle (84 soft gels)||$39.99|
|Price Per Capsule||$0.71||Price Per Capsule||$0.48|
|Price Per Serving||$1.42||Price Per Serving||$0.95|
Round 4… Zantrex Black Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
If you look at our reviews on Zantrex 3 and Zantrex Black, you’ll have to bring your monitor or phone up close to see the difference in their star ratings. Both are awful fat burners, but Zantrex Black has a little bit more star power over Zantrex 3:
- We’re talking 1.5 (Zantrex 3) vs. 1.7 (Zantrex Black) out of 5 stars.
A classic nail biter between two of the worst fat burners we’ve ever seen.
While we advise you to stay away from these supplements, if the world ended and you’re still left with a huge slab of fat in your body and only these two were the choices, you’ll have to ask yourself: Do you like caffeine or not?
Zantrex 3 has a lower caffeine level and slower release which will, hopefully, go easy on your heart rate but if you want more stim and want it hard and fast then Zantrex Black is the obvious choice.
For us, we have to look at the BIG picture. And right now we’d rather see Ozzy Osbourne cussing at his own family members than see another Kardashian episode about getting a new pair of tatas.
In the Zantrex 3 vs. Zantrex Black fight, the winner by a Landslide Decision is…
