Xenadrine Ultimate makes some BIG-time promises for a caffeine pill:
- Scientifically researched key ingredient
- Innovative, rapid-release capsules
- Cutting edge, premium ingredients
Following our first impressions of this formula, some of these claims seem to be true. The ingredients are of exceptional quality. The key ingredient has been researched. (With science!) And the capsules …well, they are capsules.
But they’re not innovative. They’re not rapid-release. And the ingredient dosages are so poor that their quality may not even matter in the long run.
However, we’re getting way too judgmental here. Let’s actually read the Xenadrine Ultimate review first before making any final decisions on this fat burner.

About Xenadrine Ultimate
Xenadrine Ultimate carries three descriptions under its belt: 1) Metabolic Intensifier, 2) Sensory Experience, and 3) Premium Superfood. Technically, Xenadrine Ultimate has all of these in its formula. But does it have them in enough quantities? Formula notes:
- Coffee and Caffeine: The highest dosed ingredients in this supplement are coffee bean extract and caffeine, two notable fat burners. But is that it?
- Herbal Extracts: Technically, that’s not it… but the remaining ingredients are supplied in such questionably low dosages that these might as well be caffeine pills.
- Proprietary: With exception to the coffee and caffeine ingredients, Xenadrine Ultimate hides all of its ingredient dosages beneath two proprietary blends.

Xenadrine Ultimate baits with “-drine” powered fat burners and swaps with good ol’ caffeine anhydrous.
Similar to how cognitive enhancers play off popular smart drugs, such as Adderall, in their supplement names, many fat burners riff on the risky, fat burner stimulant “ephedrine” by attaching -drine to their names. Hence: Xenadrine Ultimate.
As you’ll see in the proprietary blends below, Xenadrine Ultimate’s full of smoke. (And caffeine and, admittedly, some pretty decent fat burners.)
Xenadrine Ultimate Review: Ingredients
Xenadrine Ultimate divides its formula into two (semi) proprietary blends. And the only thing saving this stack from going full on proprietary is the supplement’s transparency on Caffeine, found in the first (semi) proprietary blend:
Weight Loss and Metabolic Intensity Complex
As the heavier blend of the two, the Weight Loss and Metabolic Intensity Complex splits 420 mg across three ingredients. Of which, two stand on 200 mg each. By process of simple arithmetic, the third ingredient only has 20 mg to its name. And, well… that’s weaaaak. Either way, here are the ingredients:
Robusta Coffee Bean Extract – Supplies a standardized 45% chlorogenic acids (CGAs), a Best5 favorite fat burner ingredient for its potential regulation on thermogenesis, energy metabolism, and blood sugar balance.
Caffeine Anhydrous – Another top burner on our BIG List of Fat Burners, even though its simply caffeine. And what’s weirder about this caffeine is that it’s caffeine anhydrous, despite the previous coffee bean extract. So, there’s a chance you’re getting more than 200 mg caffeine altogether here.
Yohimbe Bark Extract – With only a 20 mg dosage to back it up, this yohimbe extract isn’t worth much. However, dosage aside, yohimbine has been found to “free up” epinephrine and norepinephrine for a stimulatory boost.
Xenadrine® Ultimate Complex
The second blend goes full on proprietary, hiding all of its ingredients under the catch-all dosage of 215 mg. Which, frankly, isn’t enough for these fat burners ingredients.
Garcinia Cambogia Extract – The quote-unquote “miracle” weight loss supplement of Dr. Oz fame supplies active Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA), which may actually inhibit fat storage. A solid ingredient choice.
L-Theanine – Always a smart move stacking L-theanine with caffeine for that nootropic focus, flow, and energy. Only one problem: L-theanine would need the entire prop blend dosage here to effectively complement Xenadrine Ultimate’s caffeine content.
Spearmint Leaf Extract – Traditionally used to ease upset stomach and digestive issues, spearmint may benefit fat loss by suppressing your appetite. Although this benefit is typically attributed to brewed spearmint tea.
Autumn Olive Extract – Not entirely sure how this extract contributes to the Xenadrine Ultimate design. Potentially assists with general health and well being by providing free radical reducing antioxidants.
Ashwagandha Root and Leaf Extract – An awesome Ayurvedic adaptogen herb and strength enhancer, Ashwagandha improves stress resistance for better energy metabolism.
Formula Analysis
Xenadrine Ultimate essentially stacks up to three items:
- Coffee Bean Extract – nice, fat-burning CGAs.
- Caffeine – 200 mg (possibly more) caffeinated stimulation.
- Fluffy – fluffy fluff fluff.
And the fluff comes in the form of under-dosed herbal extracts and junky “Other Ingredients” and additives. As a result, Xenadrine Ultimate reads like an initially impressive stimulant fat burner that falls apart and disappoints in its execution.
However, it’s not simply that Xenadrine Ultimate fails to execute that makes us disappointed. It’s that this supplement seems to fail intentionally. For instance, the proprietary blends that hide the easily calculated low dosages. Yohimbine works. But 20 mg yohimbine does not. Additionally, L-theanine is a smart complement to caffeine. Yet, it’ll need the entire dosage of its blend to work well here.
To make matters worse: Xenadrine Ultimate calls for 4 capsules daily after a few days of supplementation. Once acclimated, you’re only getting 15 days worth of pills with each product. Which isn’t worth the price.
Unless you highly value caffeine, in which case …you could probably find a cheaper caffeine supplement.
Xenadrine Ultimate Benefits
Xenadrine Ultimate promises to increase:
- Metabolism
- Energy
- Focus
And Xenadrine Ultimate may increase metabolism, energy, and focus insomuch that caffeine increases metabolism, energy, and focus. However, you’ll have to then decide: Do I really need to pay for more caffeine in my diet or do the other poorly dosed ingredients in this stack justify the order?
Who Takes It?
Caffeine Loving Exercisers. Athletes and bodybuilders are split on the is-caffeine-an-appropriate-pre-workout dilemma. And Xenadrine Ultimate aims for the caffeine-is-definitely-an-appropriate-pre-workout crowd, who are looking to simultaneously spike their metabolism and exercise performance.
Any Side Effects?
Once you dig below the positive customer reviews, many of which seem very astroturfy, you’ll find several negative reviews that report the usual side effects of caffeinated supplements: way too much energy, anxiety, fast heart rate, etc. In other words, take this supplement with caution, if you’re sensitive to stimulants.
Xenadrine Ultimate Review Summary
Pros
- Best5 Favs. Three of our top 5 favorite fat burns are found in this formula.
- Quality Extracts. Several decent, natural, herbal, standardized extracts.
- Affordable (kind of). If you limit yourself to one serving per day, this supplement will last you around a month. (The directions call for two servings daily after a few days.)
Cons
- Weak Dosages. Beyond coffee bean extract and caffeine, Xenadrine Ultimate doesn’t work.
- Questionable Safety. Especially for the stimulant sensitive users.
- Poor Quality Caps. These blue capsules are covered and full of junky additives.
Pricing and Where to Buy
- 1 Bottle (15 days-ish): $24.99
- Available online and in retail stores
You can buy Xenadrine Ultimate through various retailers, including Amazon, Walgreen, Walmart, and more.
Final Word on Xenadrine Ultimate
If you’re only supplementing two pills tops daily, then $24.99 isn’t a bad price. Xenadrine Ultimate will last at least up to 30 days until you’ll need to refill your stash. Plus, you won’t be consuming 400 mg caffeine (in addition to your daily coffees), giving your heart a relatively small break. However, as a fat burner supplement, Xenadrine Ultimate leaves a lot to be desired and doesn’t do enough to 100% earn our recommendation.
