Animal Cuts vs. Zantrex Black is the fight between two supplements who wants to be legit when it comes to being cool and sounding “extreme.” I mean, any supplement with the words animal and black in their name look awesome, right?
Animal Cuts seems to attract the kind of bodybuilder who literally wants a multitasking fat burner, what with Animal Cuts’ 8 pathways. It looks complicated but efficient at the same time. (that’s why it is our #3-ranked fat-burner stack).
Zantrex Black, on the other hand, tries to keep it simple and seems to go with stim power all the way and we’ve always been greatly considerate towards simple and focused designs.
They both look fiery hot on paper but one of them is pretending and we believe it’s our solemn duty as bros of the round Crossfit box to expose this douche.
One of these supplements is extreme for real and the other just some lifter pretender. Which one is it? Let’s find out…

Round 1: Formulas
Both Animal Cuts and Zantrex Black make similar claims (well, every fat burner does anyway) but they both do it differently.
Animal Cuts covers all possible bases of weight loss
If there’s one thing Animal Cuts is known for, it’s the number of ingredients in one serving. We’re talking about 40 ingredients bro! Those 40 ingredients in 8 capsules cover thermogenics, metabolism, thyroid function, water balance, cognitive function, cortisol levels, appetite & nutrient absorption. Now let’s dive in deeper and see if it’s worth choking on 8 capsules.
Thermogenic Complex is fueled mainly by Caffeine along with other caffeine sources: Kola, Guarana, and Yerba mate. The other ingredients were added to have a slow-release effect which prolongs the effects of caffeine.
Caffeine’s one hot shit anyway so we have no issues here. Coleus is great for extra body heat (thermogenesis in science language, bro) and Raspberry ketones work well on boosting metabolism and blocking fat as well. Evodiamine is like Cayenne but milder (and weaker in effect) for your stomach.
Metabolic Complex seems to be a big tea bag. It has our favorite Green Tea Extract as well as Oolong, Black, and White tea extracts which we assume to help prolong the fat burning effects of Green Tea. You know, like with the multiple caffeine sources. They’re all standardized for potency but only Green Tea was standardized for EGCG. It also has Coffee Bean Extract for an added burn (and caffeine again).
Thyroid Complex is specifically for the body part it’s named after. Tyrosine, Olive leaf extract, and Salvia are all included to rev up your metabolic engine right from where the “metabolism” hormones come from. As an added bonus, Salvia is also known to promote weight loss.
Diuretic Complex will make you piss the water weight out. This works especially when you want to other bros to mire your ripped body and tell you all sorts of pretty words like “Bro, I like seeing your veins so much. No homo.”
The six herbs, especially Dandelion and Uva Ursi, are pro electrolytes so you don’t have to worry about being technically dehydrated when you intentionally dehydrate yourself. Does that make sense? No? Let’s move on, then.
Nootropic Complex shows impressive potency by including three of our five best nootropics: Bacopa, Huperzine-A, and DMAE. Pretty impressive stack when you want to boost brain performance (e.g. focus) and feel motivated when you want to break your PRs. For added support is Xanthinol as a vasodilator (brain circulation and shit) and B-PEA is more of a “feel good” booster. Who said lifting can only be done with rage and grunts?
Cortisol Inhibiting Complex complements the Nootropic Complex as it’s to reduce the amount of stress build-up each time you squat your back off. Ashwagandha and Rhodiola are great adaptogens while Serinaid (rhymes with serenade) reduces cortisol spikes while Magnolia is an all-around stress buster.
CCK Inhibiting Complex is Animal Cuts’ appetite suppressant blend. Hoodia and Jojoba work well with this blend but we’re not so sure about this herb called Cha-De-Burge. We’re not even sure how to pronounce it.
Their Bioavailability Complex is a simple blend that went too complicated for its own good. We didn’t know black pepper needed to work in a blend, bro. It has BioPerine, the awesomest brand of black pepper extract standardized to maximum piperine content, the active ingredient when it comes to boosting absorption.
How about Ginger, Cayenne, and Grapefruit? Great fat burners but barely anything for absorption. Would’ve been better if they went 100% BioPerine on this one but hey, if it works, it works.
Impressive mix of ingredients with a bit of derpy choices but definitely excusable. Now let’s see what Zantrex Black has in store for us.
Zantrex Black is a big Caffeine-powered blend
If there’s one thing we can be assured of Zantrex Black is its weird fetish with stimulants specifically caffeine.
It has the likes of Yerba Mate, Guarana, Kola and Caffeine but written as Trimethylxanthine to make it look cool and dangerous because real bros face danger in powder or capsule form.
It also has Green and Black tea extracts for melting your love handles. Cacao Extract influences leptin, the fat burning hormone, and boosts fat metabolism.
Rhodiola, Maca, and Ginseng function as adaptogens and maybe calm the caffeinated beast inside you. Damiana works in synergy with Yerba Mate and Guarana which creates an appetite suppressant effect. We’re not sure why they added Schizonepeta as not only does it sound like a brain disease but it’s an inflammatory herb to begin with.
They round the list up with Black Pepper which is one of our preferred ingredients in any blend for its nutrient-absorption boosting properties.
In conclusion of the first round, both formulas look raring to burn fat like there’s no tomorrow but with extremely different ways. We have to pick one, though, and that would be Animal Cuts.
Zantrex Black’s ingredients are decent but there’s really nothing special about them (some are even too odd) while Animal Cuts offer ingredients that not only work well but also work together.
Round 1… Animal Cuts Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
Zantrex Black played hard to get with their dosages while Animal Cuts had the decency to leave us some clues. Not exactly a five-star kudos but a kudos nonetheless to Animal Cuts for not totally blinding us with a prop blend.
Animal Cuts has 8.50 g of total weight spread over 40 ingredients in 8 blends while Zantrex Black has 1.16 g to support its 13 ingredients.
If we based it on weight alone, Animal Cuts would blow Zantrex Black out of the water with at least 200 mg for each ingredient.
But let’s be fair and compare the important ingredients they both possess: Green Tea Extract and Caffeine.
Animal Cuts’ Metabolic blend puts Green Tea Extract first while Zantrex Black’s big prop blend puts it two notches below Caffeine and four steps from the top.
We’re not sure at how much caffeine a bro can take but if we had to guesstimate, Zantrex Black likely dosed Caffeine and Green Tea Extract at 200-ish if they balanced the blend well. Animal Cuts on the other hand prioritized both ingredients in their 750 mg blends and it tells us a lot about the quality of their research behind these ingredients. This makes us more optimistic when it comes to Animal Cuts’ dosage for our #1 and #2 fat burners.
No questions here, Animal Cuts definitely takes this round for simply knowing the hierarchy of fat burners.
Round 2… Animal Cuts Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
Animal Cuts made use of plenty of ingredients and the lot of them are offered in high quality forms. We’re looking at getting standardized ingredients where it matters.
As for Zantrex Black, it’s as generic as your OTC sleeping pills. There’s no excitement or hint of any potent forms whatsoever. Dawg, you can put herbs and a whole garden if you want but how we goin’ to know if they potent, ‘nah mean?
No questions here. Animal Cuts wins again.
Round 3… Animal Cuts Wins.
Round 4: Price
Animal Cuts | VS. | Zantrex Black
1 canister (21-day supply) | $36.39 | 1 Bottle (42 servings) | $39.99
Price Per Capsule | $0.11 | Price Per Capsule | $0.48
Price Per Serving | $0.88 | Price Per Serving | $0.95 |
Round 4… Animal Cuts Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
We’re not even sure what we were thinking when we compared these two. It seemed like a good idea at the time but we kind of feel guilty now that we’ve reached the end. Just look at how we rated them in the past:
- We’re talking 4.3 (Animal Cuts) vs. 1.7 (Zantrex Black) out of 5 stars.
Never mess with one of our Best 5 Fat Burning Supplements.
While Animal Cuts obviously blew its “competition” out of the water, Zantrex Black still has one good thing about it and that is its shelf-life. One bottle can last up to 42 days!
But then again, it’s just a fancy caffeine pill and you can just stack a basic caffeine-theanine and save yourself wads of cash in the process. Yup, I guess there’s no saving grace for Zantrex Black after all. Just goes to show even complex formulations can one-up against simple formula designs if they’re researched well.
Looks like Animal Cuts came out the legit cool supplement in this fight while Zantrex Black was found to be that weak-ass pretender who looks the part but can’t lift shit.
In the Animal Cuts vs. Zantrex Black fight, the winner by LANDSLIDE Decision is…
ANIMAL CUTS
