In the jungle, the mighty jungle…
The lion doesn’t sleep.
The lion benches presses 315 lb, squats ass to the grass, and soothes its muscles in a post-workout ice bath whilst re-reading a Prime Male serving of Hemingway. Or at least that’s the usual daily schedule of the lion.
Today, the lion’s plans are disrupted by P6 Ultimate, a beefy newcomer – a shredded gym monkey looking to take the lion’s place as king of the jungle. Check it:

Round 1: Formulas
We have the number one testosterone booster of our 2016 and 2017 Best 5 Testosterone Booster Supplements up against a best-selling, top priced (as in it’s expensive AF) newcomer. Let’s see how their formulas match up.
Prime Male: 100% Natural Testosterone Booster
Prime Male is a Best5 favorite for five reasons: D-Aspartic Acid, Zinc, Mucuna Pruriens, Vitamin D3, and Boron – i.e., the top five ingredients on our BIG List of T-Boosters.
These test boosters work, and they work very well, increasing testosterone from multiple bio-pathways: Increased test synthesis, reduced estrogen conversion, enhanced LH signaling, and more.
Yet, Prime Male doesn’t stop there, pushing the envelope further by stacking other top test boosters that synergize and enhance the bio-benefits of the above listed ingredients – e.g., Luteolin contributes to Boron’s anti-estrogen efforts, whereas vitamin K2 potentiates vitamin D3’s effects.
And best of all: each ingredient is completely natural and extremely safe.
P6 Ultimate: Proprietary Performance + Pump
P6 Ultimate goes for a more hybrid testosterone boosting design, with its one-two proprietary blends punch:
- Testosterone and Performance Blend – stacking herbal adaptogens with estrogen reducing compounds, this blend focuses on promoting an anabolic, performance enhancing metabolism for the bodybuilding bros.
- Cognitive and Pump Blend – N.O. boosters for the “pump” benefits and cholinergic nootropics for the “cognitive” aspect, promoting the mind-muscle connection advertised by Cellucor.
P6 Ultimate starts with a nifty idea – stacking test boosters, performance enhancers, and mental sharpeners – yet, leaves us questioning its value due to these blends proprietary statuses (more on this in Round 2). Additionally, Ovine Placenta, a popular Cellucor P6 ingredient, makes another appearance in this formula, despite the lack of research to back up its use.
All-in-all, P6 Ultimate isn’t a bad formula, but it lacks the focus and synergy supplied by Prime Male’s formula.
Round 1… Prime Male Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
Prime Male puts up another solid fight in this round, showcasing solid, hefty dosages across the board, and keeping them all non-proprietary.
P6 Ultimate, on the other hand, drops the ball here with its proprietary label, which obscures the individual dosage of 11 ingredients. Granted, the overall dosages on those blends aren’t bad: 2275 mg for the Testosterone and Performance Blend; 1225 mg for the Cognitive and Pump Blend.
These dosages seem adequate to cover these ingredients, and the 3333IU Vitamin D3 is solid …yet, Prime Male even outperforms P6 Ultimate there, delivering an even fatter 5000IU Vitamin D3.
Also, aside from the proprietary shenanigans, P6 Ultimate tops its capsules with Rice Flour, whereas Prime Male’s contents are strictly testosterone boosting ingredients.
Rice Flour doesn’t boost testosterone, Cellucor!
Round 2… Prime Male Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
We have a more even comparison here. We’ll start by giving credit to P6 Ultimate for delivering an impressive number of quality, patented ingredient brands: KSM-66, LJ100, Nitrosigine, NO3-T, AlphaSize, and Zembrin.
Rather than sticking to the plain, impotent plant powders and compounds, P6 Ultimate massively ups its quality by investing in brand ingredients. Yet, these ingredients are wrapped in some of the nastiest, junkiest capsules we’ve seen in awhile. The Rice Flour is one thing, but the Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Magnesium Stearate are another.
Prime Male also shows a little unnecessary color in its formula (FD&C Red #40), but nowhere near to the degree that P6 Ultimate does. Additionally, Prime Male provides only the best forms for all of its ingredients as well, then enhances their potency even further with BioPerine, a popular black pepper extract brand that improves overall nutrient absorption.
The devil’s in the details. And P6 Ultimate’s corner cutting on these details ultimately cost it Round 3 in this review.
Round 3… Prime Male Wins.
Round 4: Price
Prime Male | VS. | P6 Ultimate
1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $69.00 | 1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $159.99
Price Per Capsule | $0.58 | Price Per Capsule | $1.07
Price Per Serving | $2.30 | Price Per Serving | $5.33 |
Yeah, that’s a massive price difference. Granted, P6 Ultimate provides more caps per serving, yet even then their price per capsule is almost double that of Prime Male. You can buy the product at a cheaper $129.99 from certain retailers, but that’s still close to double Prime Male’s price.
Round 4… Prime Male Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
A win-win-win-win across the board for Prime Male, with the coffin nail coming in hard with the huge price difference between Prime Male and P6 Ultimate.
P6 Ultimate may impress with its high quality ingredient brands, but this strive for luxury seems to have come at a massive price. And one that doesn’t at all seem worth it, considering that Prime Male managed to stack high quality ingredients at a significantly more cost-effect price.
Plus, Prime Male simply boosts testosterone better than P6 Ultimate.
Even so, Prime Male is a testosterone booster designed for the more mature men, whereas P6 Ultimate seems to focus on the younger bodybuilding crowd. Both are backed by positive customer reviews, yet these reviews seem written by different demographics.
On that note, if you’re a younger dood with the money to spare, then sure go for P6 Ultimate. To those looking to significantly improve their test gains, Prime Male has your back.
