P6 Black and P6 Ultimate share the same Cellucor series of testosterone boosters.
But if P6 Ultimate is truly the ultimate P6 test product, is there any real comparison?
There better be: P6 Ultimate is one of the most expensive testosterone booster supplements on the shelves in 2017, counting nearer to the $200 mark than $100. If it’s calling itself the ultimate testosterone booster, it better not just be the ultimate booster for Cellucor but for the entire damn genre of testosterone booster supplements.
You’ll be surprised to learn that in the respective reviews of these products, P6 Black earned the higher marks than P6 Ultimate. This seems to be the case among the customer reviews as well.
Let’s see why that might be.

Round 1: Formulas
Cellucor versus Cellucor. Who wins?
Cellucor, regardless of which product takes the W. Although, P6 Ultimate would be a bigger win for Cellucor, given how much it costs – but let’s see if the prices match the products here, starting with:
P6 Black: Proprietary Mind + Muscle
Cellucor are BIG DOGGS in the supplement game, and P6 Black demonstrates their power well with its bodybuilding + sports nutrition + street smarts design, a hybrid formula that centers its three identities on its proprietary blends:
- Nootropic Testosterone Matrix
- Vitamin & Mineral Support Blend
- Androgen Support Matrix
Altogether, these blends provide four of our 5 BIG List of T-Boosters top ingredients: D-Aspartic Acid, Zinc, Mucuna Pruriens, and Vitamin D (only missing Boron) – as well as a smart supply of mind and muscle enhancing Alpha GPC and the classic ZMA sports nutrition trio: Zinc, Magnesium, and B6.
Yet, while Alpha GPC (and D-Serine, the other nootropic) are solid nootropics, they’re not quite the supreme-O cognitive enhancers we’d look for in our physical, exercise supplements. L-tyrosine or Rhodiola would have been better options.
Also, the androstenolone (a.k.a. DHEA) is an interesting ingredient choice, considering that it is a WADA banned substance, preventing athletes from taking P6 Black, despite not really doing anything for testosterone.
P6 Ultimate: Proprietary Performance + Pump
P6 Ultimate mimics P6 Black in that it also has Alpha-GPC and Vitamin D and …well, that’s about it. Which is sort of a disappointment, seeing that P6 Ultimate misses out on the big bad T-boosters in P6 Black’s formula, e.g.: D-Aspartic Acid, Zinc, Mucuna Pruriens… But it makes up for this, right?
The best testosterone boosters in P6 Ultimate’s formula are its herbal extracts: Ashwagandha (as KSM-66), Fenugreek, Eurycoma Longifolia (as LJ100). P6 Ultimate rounds out these testosterone boosters with a well-researched estrogen reducer (Agaricus bisporus) and a prostate protector (Stinging Nettle Extract), while topping the supplement off with a cognitive enhancing, N.O. pumping proprietary blend:
- P6 Ultimate Cognitive and Pump Blend – Sporting the patented N.O. boosters Nitrosigine and NO3-T, essentially two forms of L-arginine, and a couple nootropics – Alpha-GPC and Zembrin – this blend encompasses the PWO performance enhancing benefits of P6 Ultimate’s hybrid design.
The mix of long-term testosterone gains with acute cognitive and pump boosts is a smart one, nailing a wide spectrum of performance enhancing benefits. Yet, when compared to P6 Black, the lack of testosterone boosts in P6 Ultimate is painfully apparent and somewhat confusing when you check out the product’s price (SEE: Round 4).
For that, P6 Black takes the first round.
Round 1… P6 Black Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
Cellucor never does well in this round, due to the manufacturer’s nasty habit of locking its ingredient details beneath proprietary blend labels. For P6 Black, this means hiding 11 ingredients under three proprietary blends; for P6 Ultimate, it’s 11 ingredients under two prop blends.
In terms of transparency, P6 Ultimate is the worse of the two: We’re only seeing two dosages for 11 ingredients, whereas P6 Black provides us with a more revealing three dosages.
And not only that but P6 Black displays the individual ingredient dosages of its five vitamins and minerals, all of which look pretty decent. (That 30 mg Zinc is especially hot.) P6 Ultimate does show its Vitamin D dosage, which looks better than P6 Black’s, but this isn’t enough to take a lead over its opponent in this round.
Neither Cellucor supplement earn positive points in this round, but P6 Black earns fewer negative points than P6 Ultimate. Another round for P6 Black.
Round 2… P6 Black Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
If Cellucor habitually does poorly in Round 2, they often make up for it in Round 3 by providing potent herbal extracts, patented bio-active brands, and absorbable vitamins and minerals. P6 Black and P6 Ultimate are no exception.
Ingredient quality highlights for P6 Black:
- Chelated DAA – DAA is the best test booster; chelated DAA is even better.
- Herbal Extracts – Botanicals standardized to highly potent percentages.
- Vitamins & Minerals – A rare sight: the P-5-P form of Vitamin B6.
Ingredient quality highlights for P6 Ultimate:
- Patented Brands – Brands on brands on brands in this brand.
- Herbal Extracts – More standardized herbal extracts.
- Multi-Pathway – Different routes to pumps and cognition.
Granted, both products could improve the quality of their caps, removing the FD&C colors and fillers, but in terms of the quality of the caps’ contents, both formulas are looking niiiiice.
Round 3… Tie.
Round 4: Price
P6 Black | VS. | P6 Ultimate
1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $69.90 | 1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $159.99
Price Per Capsule | $0.77 | Price Per Capsule | $1.07
Price Per Serving | $2.33 | Price Per Serving | $5.33 |
This isn’t only a Round 4 win for P6 Black but a major win for the supplement altogether. $159.99 for P6 Ultimate?? That’s a late match DQ in our books.
Round 4… P6 Black Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
There’s no question that P6 Ultimate provides impressively high quality ingredients. But are they that nice to warrant that huge price tag? Or is that price tag to make up for the fact that P6 Ultimate had to invest in ingredient brands rather than quality, non-patented ingredients extracts?
P6 Black is a better demonstration of Cellucor at its best: The supplement accomplishes its central focus well (boosting testosterone) while successfully delivering its hybrid elements in high quality fashion.
Could P6 Black improve its formula? Yes, without a doubt. But the aspects that need improving by P6 Black are the same negative qualities of P6 Ultimate. And you don’t have to take out a small loan to supplement P6 Black, which is definitely a plus here.
Either way, you’ll likely see significant performance boosts with each product, but P6 Black is the clear winner in this comparison product review.
