Alpha King vs. Prime Male represents a manly match up between two loudmouth supplements that each claim to be the best competitor in the ring — i.e., the alpha male. Yet, as anyone knows: There can only ever be one alpha occupying any designated space at any time.
Or if there are two alphas sharing a room, then it’s only a matter of time (and perhaps a couple of drinks) until one of them has to die.
So, between Alpha King and Prime Male, who’s the true alpha? Who’s going to die?? Let’s read the Alpha King vs. Prime Male comparison review to find out.

Formula Comparison
The Alpha King vs. Prime Male comparison begs the question: What’s the difference between being an “alpha” vs. a “prime” male?
A male in his prime is at his peak alpha potential. Anywhere below or beyond that ventures into decreasingly alpha male territory. As such, Prime Male seems to promise to lengthen a man’s alpha male period, whereas Alpha King claims to be the alpha.
However, there can only be one alpha in this match up. So, let’s figure out which one actually earns that title.
How are Alpha King and Prime Male formulas similar?
Really, there’s almost nothing similar between these formulas, with exception to their FD&C Red #40 and their shared goal of boosting testosterone. Perhaps, we could point out that both supplements also seem to address estrogen concerns with Alpha King’s DIM and Prime Male’s Luteolin and Boron. Yet, even their pathways to improving the testosterone:estrogen ratio are significantly different.
How are Alpha King and Prime Male formulas different?
They simply are different. If not completely different.
Alpha King targets: free testosterone and sexual enhancement with Fenugreek, Tribulus, and Maca; of which the latter don’t really do much for testosterone gains.
Prime Male targets: free and total testosterone, in addition to sexual, physical, and mental enhancement via L-dopa, ginseng, vitamins and minerals, stinging nettle… With nettle, Prime Male seems to offer significant prostate protection as well, making it a better option for older, mature male health.
Alpha King vs. Prime Male: Unique Benefits
Alpha King supplies herbal male enhancement for physical and sexual performance.
Fenugreek may assist with free testosterone boosts by inhibiting SHBG and 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to DHT. And the other two herbs, Tribulus and Maca, while not effective for teststerone, do seem to help with other aspects of male health …namely, well, sex and libido.
Prime Male optimizes testosterone status through various bio-pathways.
From the pituitary gland down to the testes themselves, Prime Male affects nearly every cogwheel in the body’s natural testosterone producing scheme. And as one ingredient acts on one pathway (e.g., DAA in the testes), another acts on an adjacent action (e.g., L-Dopa on LH/FSH secretion), adding an impressive degree of testosterone boosting synergy to Prime Male’s design.
Essentially, Prime Male’s design accomplishes Alpha King’s goals and then some, improving testosterone status as well as physical and sexual enhancement.
- Alpha King may assist with younger bodybuilding concerns, whereas Prime Male seems better for those actually affected by age-related testosterone decline. As such, Prime Male has a better, more effective testosterone boosting stack.
Dosage Comparison
Alpha King calls for one serving of one capsule taken daily with breakfast. Prime Male supplies four daily capsules, split into four one capsule servings taken throughout the day. Simply by design, Prime Male allows for not only more testosterone boosters in its formula but higher dosages for those testosterone boosters.
For example, the featured ingredient in Prime Male, D-AA-CC, sits on a hefty 1600 mg dosage, whereas Alpha King’s AlphaFen takes up a fourth of that: 400 mg.
Following the D-AA-CC is roughly an additional 800 mg for the remaining ingredients, while Alpha King has only 350 for its remaining three ingredients.
Having said all of that, we need to give props to both Alpha King and Prime Male for their commitment to non-proprietary transparency. Nothing tanks a supplement review worse than the lame proprietary blend.
- While 400 mg might meet the cut for Alpha King’s Fenugreek, overall the formula lacks the weight demonstrated by Prime Male. Altogether, Prime Male has a weightier testosterone booster than Alpha King.
Ingredient Quality Comparison
Okay, we’ll start by listing what we find impressive about Alpha King’s ingredients:
- AlphaFen® Fenugreek – Quality, standardized extract of a decent test booster.
- Black Maca Root Extract – It’s better than plain maca powder, right?
However, that’s about it for Alpha King’s quality points. The remaining portions of the formula either rank as standard quality — Diindolylmethane — or sub-part: plain Tribulus powder.
Prime Male, on the other hand, supplies a high quality formula across the board, cutting no corners on any of its ingredients. What we mean by that is: All of the herbal ingredients are highly potent extracts. The vitamins and minerals come in easy-to-absorb forms. And the DAA is not simply DAA but D-AA-CC — the preferred, enhanced DAA type.
On the whole, Prime Male is undeniably high quality. Whereas Alpha King could definitely improve its formula to a better potency.
- While Alpha King does a solid job with its featured testosterone booster (Fenugreek), Prime Male cuts no corners on ingredient quality.
Nutrient Delivery and Clean Label Comparison
We can clear up the “Nutrient Delivery” comparison pretty quickly: Prime Male has BioPerine, Alpha King does not. And if you’re unsure why that clears that up: BioPerine is a black pepper extract brand that enhances nutrient delivery. Plain and simple.
Furthermore, Prime Male has a cleaner label relative to Alpha King, listing only Gelatin, Titanium Dioxide, and FD&C Red 40. Could Prime Male trim off a couple colorants? Sure. But so could Alpha King with its Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Red 40, FD&C Blue 1, and FD&C Yellow 6.
Not to mention Alpha King’s Magnesium Stearate, which potentially acts counter to BioPerine, limiting nutrient absorption rather than enhancing it. Granted, using the AlphaFen® brand of Fenugreek should improve Alpha King’s saponin delivery. Yet, we’ve already shown Alpha King to be the lesser in the “Ingredient Quality” category on that point.
- Prime Male has BioPerine and a cleaner label. Alpha King, on the other hand, does not have BioPerine but rather Mg Stearate coated caps.
Price Comparison
Alpha King | vs. | Prime Male
1 Bottle (30 servings) | $69.99 | 1 Bottle (30 servings) | $69.00
Price Per Serving | $2.33 | Price Per Serving | $2.30 |
Sort of a head-scratcher here: Alpha King has fewer ingredients than Prime Male, yet the former costs slightly more than the latter. What’s more, Alpha King has a lower quality formula than Prime Male’s. So, what’s the deal??
Even if Alpha King’s price was slightly lower than Prime Male’s, we’d still rate the price-per-value ratio in Prime Male’s favor in this round. ~$70 is a lot to ask for any supplement. So, you want to make sure your supplement’s some high quality shit, if you’re charging that much.
- Prime Male costs slightly less than Alpha King, despite Prime Male’s higher quality and quantity than Alpha King’s skimpy formula.
Alpha King vs. Prime Male: Which is Better?
In almost every category, Prime Male has Alpha King beat. And I only say “almost” because perhaps you’re specifically in the market for Fenugreek or Tribulus or Diindolylmethane. In which case, sure… Alpha King has those ingredients and Prime Male does not.
Yet, in terms of boosting testosterone, enhancing male health and performance, stimulating sex and libido, Prime Male is by far the superior testosterone boosting option between these two supplements.
Apart from this match up, there’s very little to recommend in Alpha King: It’s a surprisingly weak formula for the price tag attached to its name. And with regards to its name …yeah, that’s all talk. The real alpha in the room: Prime Male.
