About Olimp Redweiler
Olimp Redweiler is a pre-workout supplement ‘for advanced athletes’ – and it’s a pretty interesting one.
If you’re unfamiliar, the point of a pre-workout supplement is to improve the performance and results you get from a workout. This tends to involve boosting perceptions of energy/awakeness, compounds to support strength or endurance, and improving blood flow.
These three categories are also – roughly – how Redweiler separates out its different ingredients. Redweiler’s three key matrices have obnoxious names, but they are close to the goals of a pre-workout:
- Armageddon Pump Formula
- Berserker’s Performance Blend
- Red FURY Matrix (remember, all-caps makes it sound cool)
The names might sound like they come straight out of a bad game of dungeons and dragons, but what are you actually getting? The label is a bit complicated, but here’s what you can expect:
Directions for Use
We absolutely love that the product servings are based on body mass. It’s a simple part of the science that is often missed out by supplement companies, but really important.
Without getting too far into the numbers, your body rarely needs an absolute amount of a compound. Rather, most clinical evidence for what works is based on something like “mg per kg of bodyweight”.
Olimp acknowledges this in their own products and it goes to show that they’ve put the time and research into the product. This isn’t enough to win our approval alone, but it definitely paints a good picture of Olimp as a brand.
Check out your body mass to check which of these serving sizes suits you, and follow the use schedule. If you weigh less than 75kg, for instance, take 6g of Olimp Redweiler (mix two scoops with 100ml water). If you weigh 75-90kg, take twice that amount (12g) and if you’re 90kg and above, take 18g. You want to take the recommended dose with at least 500ml of water around 30 minutes before your workout.
As ever, if you have the macros free in your diet, we recommend taking this product with a simple carbohydrate. This will improve the mental and physical performance benefits, making for an even better workout.
What Is in Redweiler Pre-Workout?
Armageddon Pump
This matrix is designed to improve the muscle ‘pump’ – one of the most sought-after feelings of bigger, swollen muscles. This is also pretty cool for muscular mass and strength since it could help your muscles recover and grow more effectively.

Citrulline Malate
This is the key nitric oxide (or NO) booster in Redweiler.
NO-boosters cause vasodilation: they open up the blood vessels which allows for better transport of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles. This is awesome by itself, but this also produces ridiculous pumps and you’re probably going to be able to see the difference.
Citrulline is the best NO-booster because it turns into Arginine in the body. This is important because regular Arginine is broken down during digestion, so having Citrulline ensures you’re getting the best pumps.
The benefits of Citrulline also extend to performance. Evidence tells us that it can boost endurance performance and especially recovery between bouts of exercise. This could be useful for boosting performance if your exercise sets are close together – or if you like cardio (somehow)!
We also suspect the benefits of citrulline probably carry over to recovery at a very modest level. The delivery of extra nutrients and oxygen to muscles could reduce muscle damage and improve cell volume/signaling.

AAKG
It’s not quite Citrulline, but AAKG is the best form of Arginine. It’s got the same digestive problems seen with other forms, but less so, and has its own benefits.
We’re honestly not super enthusiastic about this ingredient since it’s been included instead of more citrulline. Realistically, a heavier dose of citrulline would do a better job than including AAKG.
AAKG kinda works, while Citrulline definitely does work. The reliability of AAKG is much lower and the evidence we have seems to suggest that it doesn’t have many benefits for weight training. Overall, it’s an unnecessary addition – but mostly just a waste of space that could be more Citrulline!

Sodium citrate
This is a pretty good ingredient because you’re going to need effective salt intake for better pumps and performance. Sodium is one of the key electrolytes that you sweat out while training, so the Sodium citrate in Redweiler helps replace these key salts.
These are key for reducing cramps and maintaining normal muscle activity. If you’re electrolyte deficient during intense training – or in hot environments – you’re going to have a bad time. It also boosts re-hydration which is key for performance and muscular health.
On top of all these existing benefits, you’re also going to see reduced muscular damage when effectively supplementing electrolytes. Chemical balance in the muscles is negatively affected during training, but proper electrolyte intake has been shown to help re-balance this and combat muscle damage.
Overall, this is great – especially since Calcium and Phosphorous are also found in this product (we’ll discuss this more below.).

B6
Vitamins and minerals are good for you – they’re always welcome in pre-workout supplements. B vitamins, especially, are important for energy transfer and metabolism.
This is key because you’re going to need to keep your energy levels up for the best results in and out of training. Supporting your B vitamin needs with the commonly-deficient B6 is a smart choice and doesn’t take up much space in the supplement.
It’s not going to make a huge difference but if you’re taking a supplement, it’s nice to see it helps with the basics, too. There are a few other B vitamins in this product, and it all adds up!

This is our favorite matrix in the product: it has some of the best possible ingredient choices. We really like the combinations, and they play well with products in the other categories.

Beta-Alanine is the king of endurance supplements. It plays well with Citrulline (mentioned above), providing a great combination. It’s proven to reduce fatigue at a central level, too, which means keeping you awake and lively during longer or tired workouts.
If you’re busting your ass in the gym, at work, or studying, this compound is going to be nice to take the edge off. It works well with caffeine, improves your time to exhaustion, and is just generally great for working hard and earning those results.
We also love the combination of Beta-alanine with creatine because it covers pretty much every type of exercise. Speaking of which…

Creatine Monohydrate
If you’re not taking creatine in some form, you’re selling yourself short. It’s one of the most well-researched and effective supplementary compounds around.
Creatine boosts your muscular energy pool, supporting the cells themselves while also allowing you to work harder for longer. Just in case you hadn’t noticed, working harder for longer is the #1 way to improve your results.
The main benefit is something we call strength-endurance: your ability to do heavy, difficult work for longer. This is also the best way to build strength and muscle, so you’re going to perform better and improve more sustainably/effectively.
If you’re still not convinced, it’s also an Osmolyte. This means it helps draw water into the muscle cells, which means two things: better pumps and better re-hydration. For a final layer of goodness, it also has some cool implications for heart health and anti-oxidative effects.
Creatine is awesome – you should be taking creatine.

Creatine Malate
Did we say that you should be taking creatine? Good, because this product has two kinds. You know, in case you weren’t making enough gains already.
Creatine Malate is a rarer form, but it is alright with us because Malic acid (the Malate bit) is also pretty cool. It seems that malic acid could help creatine digestion and uptake, as well as studies suggesting Creatine Malate could have unique benefits for power output, but that’s unclear.
Overall, good to see more creatine, and with malic acid which is also beneficial in the wider context of the other ingredients of this product.

Calcium Phosphate
There are very few compounds that bring us as much nerdy enjoyment as Calcium Phosphate.
Why is it so cool? Because it combines two things you should really be paying attention to all at once, while taking up very little space in the supplement – why supplement calcium and phosphorous when you can use calcium phosphate?
The calcium in this compound is amazing for the electrolyte balance we mentioned above. Residual calcium ions in the muscles are one of the key causes of muscular damage and proper calcium intake/metabolism is important for re-balancing the muscles.
Phosphorous is just cool, as it’s one of the key pieces of ATP – your body’s high-energy fuel. The benefits to improved phosphorus intake are seen through the lens of better energy availability and its knock-on effects to cell health. It’s a perfect combo with creatine.
Clearly, this is the perfect compound for this matrix – and this product as a whole. We love calcium phosphate and you should too, especially if you like talking about niche nutritional science at parties.
- More B Vitamins (B1 and Niacin as analogue)
Before we get rolling, Niacin is B3, but this product doesn’t contain real B3. It uses an analogue of B3, which acts in pretty much the same way.
B1 and B3 are also essential vitamins, like B6, but they’re not as important as B6. We’re bundling them together because it’s a nice boost but not a huge deal. It’s nice to see more vitamin support – especially in combination with B6 – but it’s not a primary ingredient.
We like it, but it’s not a huge deal, that’s all you need to know about B1 and B3 in the Redweiler pre-workout supplement. Good, but not crucial: because why would you not want more nutrients?

Red FURY
This complex is effectively the stimulant, metabolic support, and synergist ingredients. Caffeine is the most obvious one, but Cayenne and Piperine are also great. Tyrosine wouldn’t have been our choice, but it’s decent enough.
Caffeine is obviously the key compound in this mix. It’s the classic mental and physical performance aid and has a huge amount of clinical evidence to prove it.
The under-75kg dose is clinically very low, while the 75kg+ options are both within ranges that make for better performance. The caffeine content is still a big win due to its benefits to wakefulness, mental performance, and various metrics for strength and power.
One of the things that we would’ve liked to see is the use of L-Theanine rather than L-Tyrosine, as this works perfectly with caffeine to reduce any potential jitters, anxiety and other side-effects of the stimulant. Meanwhile, Tyrosine is a good mood support compound but doesn’t have the same performance benefits.
Cayenne pepper extract (capsaicin) is pretty cool. It’s a metabolic support compound that improves calorie use and thus boosts fat loss potential. It’s not amazing for pumps, specifically, but is a gentle antioxidant, so that’s cool too.
Piperine is awesome, as it helps all the other compounds in your supplement work more effectively. It boosts absorption through the intestinal wall, making everything else better – an invaluable ingredient for better nutritional performance.

Does Redweiler Pre-Workout work? Yes, yes it does.
This product works across the three main areas it aims to: pumps, performance boosts, and cognitive/metabolic benefits. Overall, it pulls ahead of the market standard across all of these main goals.
The main concern we have for this product is the dosing of individual ingredients. This can be a concern but the adjustments for body mass are good. We recommend using the 75-90kg directions as a minimum if you’re interested in performance, since this is closer to clinical doses.

The benefits of this product range from simply improving pumps to actually enhancing performance. These also knock on to benefits in terms of mental performance/wellbeing, recovery, and overall results.
Clearly, the range and significance of these benefits are what make Redweiler one of our favorite pre-workout supplements to date.
Who Takes Olimp Redweiler
We’re pretty big fans of this product so we’re going to say pretty much anyone could benefit from it.
Whether you’re an elite level powerlifter or a total beginner to the gym, the ingredients in this product make the experience and results better. That’s all you can really ask of a pre-workout supplement, so we’re pretty impressed.
Any Potential Side Effects?
You’re probably not going to experience any significant side-effects while taking Olimp Redweiler, but it’s always individualized. You could have a negative reaction to any supplement, but there’s nothing in this product that is inherently worrying.
The higher doses of beta-alanine could leave you with the tingles, which, while disconcerting, is harmless. Be aware, however, that taking the 18g dose of Olimp Redweiler pre-workout will give you 300mg of caffeine – not a huge amount but significant for anyone not used to stimulants.
Any other side effects are possible but unlikely. However, if you have any pre-conditions or you’re on any medication you should discuss this supplement with your doctor.

For a supplement of this quality, we’re pleasantly impressed with the pricing. At $38.99 for a tub that should last roughly 4 weeks, it’s a pretty good price tag, especially considering the less-effective but pricier products on the market.
As supplements go, Redweiler makes a compelling case with both its effectiveness and pricing structure. Olimp has done well with this product, and the pricing also speaks to their integrity as a company.
Olimp Redweiler Review: Final Words
This is a good product that has only a few small tweaks that we’d like to see. It’s a matter of choosing the perfect ingredient rather than just a good one. We’d like to see AAKG replaced with more citrulline and tyrosine replaced with theanine.
However, these are just tweaks, and the core product is great quality. We really like the overall design and choices Olimp made, making it one of the better pre-workouts to date.
In our honest opinion, though, it’s still not the very best pre-workout available.
