truBrain vs. OptiMind have both enjoyed explosive online popularity, with promises of big brainpower boosts for peak performance & productivity.
But really, these two nootropic stacks are in completely different classes.
truBrain is an easy-to-consume “think drink” with superior stimulants. Credible where it counts, truBrain is ready for a clean fight, and has already earned the #2 slot in our Best 5 Nootropic Supplements list.
Meanwhile, OptiMind’s allegedly has “20,000” customers, but a ton of controversy surrounds their brand… including a history of scammy low-blows that have earned the brand a bad reputation for fighting dirty.
Which brain-boosting stack reigns supreme?? Let’s check it!

Round 1: Formulas
OptiMind claims to enhance alertness, memory, and focus by clearing out “brain fog.” Their formula is OK, but some ingredients lack the influence OptiMind promises.
To start, the B12 is a minuscule amount and improperly labeled; it can’t be Pyridoxine HCL, B6 is.
And although both OptiMind and truBrain include caffeine, truBrain handles the jitters better by adding L-Theanine whereas OptiMind skipped it.
OptiMind’s prop blend does include a few great nootropics: Bacopa Monnieri, Huperzine-A, Vinpocetine, and Phosphatidylserine. All are great for memory, cognition, and learning.
That said, OptiMind might see better results if they moved Alpha Lipoic & Taurine out of the prop blend. And since vitamin D3 offers no nootropic benefits it could’ve been cut completely.
truBrain stepped up where OptiMind didn’t by adding the #1 Best5 Nootropic: Citicoline. They also thought to include L-Theanine to offset the jitters caused by caffeine; OptiMind did not.
And while both truBrain and OptiMind included Tyrosine in their formulas, only truBrain uses N-Acetyl Tyrosine: The superior form for promoting peak mental performance.
It looks like truBrain put more thought into how their ingredients work together. truBrain’s formula is well-designed to unlock the highest nootropic benefits, and easily triumphs over OptiMind’s mediocre-at-best formula design.
Round 1 goes to truBrain!
Round 2: Dosages
The foundation behind OptiMind is their 1490 mg prop blend. We don’t know the individual dosages for the ingredients but we do know Huperzine-A, Vinpocetine and Sulbutiamine can be effective in small dosages.
What’s left might be enough to unlock the remining ingredients benefits. But we can’t say for sure.
In the other corner, truBrain offers up their dosages with ease. Overall they’re solid, but a couple ingredients would benefit from a higher dosage.
We actually like to see that truBrain’s caffeine is conservatively dosed and not batshit crazy; it is rare to see such responsible stimulant dosing, but it makes a lot of sense when combined with its potentially stimulating racetam-class nootropics.
truBrain’s formula hits plenty of Critical Mass dosages. Plus, truBrain told us exactly what we wanted to know with their transparent supplement facts. We can’t say the same for OptiMind.
Round 2: truBrain Wins
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
OptiMind gets some points for including hefty nootropics in their formula. Their Bacopa Monnieri is a Best5 top nootropic; and standardized at 50% bacosides, it shows good quality. Their SERINAID® Phosphatidylserine is a premium, high-quality ingredient, too. But that’s about all they got.
truBrain uses the upgraded CDP-Citicoline form of choline, which gives their formulas a huge advantage. And, as mentioned, their N-Acetyl–Tyrosine is an upgraded tyrosine for that works better for the brain.
truBrain’s core racetams are not really available in upgraded forms, so the rest of their ingredients look fairly plain.
However, we see truBrain uses organic blue agave and organic cane sugar, showing additional flashes of quality.
We tend to believe that OptiMind “fairy dusts” with a couple of premium ingredients, but truBrain offers more consistent quality through both their “Think Drink” formulas.
Round 3: truBrain WINS
Round 4: Price
truBrain | VS. | OptiMind | ||
30 Drinks (30-day supply) | $65.00 | 1 Bottle (32-capsules) | $43.31
Per pouch | $2.16 | Per capsule | $1.35
Per serving | $2.16 | Per serving | $2.70 |
Yeahhhhh, if there’s a drawback to truBrain Think Drinks, it’s that they ain’t cheap. But OptiMind turns out to be even more expensive per serving, a shocking development for such a crappy formula.
Round 4 Winner: truBrain
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
truBrain is more trustworthy. They’re open about their dosages from the get-go – and they’re quite good. They hit their mark on the majority of truBrain’s premium ingredients and we know this from the label.
OptiMind gives us their prop blend dosage but the individual ingredients remain mysterious. Whether they hit their mark or not, we’ve got no idea.
Although both truBrain and OptiMind use caffeine, truBrain included L-Theanine to offset the caffeine shakes. And truBrain used N- Acetyl Tyrosine; better quality than the standard Tyrosine OptiMind used.
truBrain’s ingredients are premium & exotic; high quality nootropics (Citicoline, Oxiracetam & L-Theanine) for focus, concentration, and stress relief. Their formula packs a few exotic fruits and organic ingredients without added junk.
Not to mention they’re easy to consume as “think drinks” in a smartly packaged, eco-friendly & biodegradable pouch.
OptiMind does include some premium ingredients, but the formula itself is just OK.
What really knocks out OptiMind is their company reputation.
Reportedly, OptiMind refuses to honor their money-back guarantee, their customer service is poor, and they’re known to scam their buyers through Autoship chicanery.
Plus OptiMind mislabeled their B12 as Pyridoxine HCL. Besides the awkwardness of this LABEL DERP, nutritional supplement misinformation isn’t safe in any form.
truBrain, on the other hand, is known for their exceptional customer service, professionalism, clean business practices, and powerful nootropic formula.
The outcome is pretty clear.
