Round 1: Formulas
Nootroo and Alpha BRAIN have similar claims: to increase better focus, processing, concentration, and mental alertness.
Nootroo used plenty of science for their nootropic choices, while Alpha BRAIN puts emphasis on their one-of-a-kind formula.
Alpha BRAIN’s formula of top nootropics
Acquiring the ultimate Peak Alpha state (alertness while maintaining relaxation) works with Alpha BRAIN’s blend of L-Theanine and Oatstraw; both are brainwave-based nootropics. And since Alpha BRAIN is stimulant-free, its L-theanine is not paired with caffeine. (Nootroo does have caffeine, along with stimulant racetams.)
Beyond its L-Theanine+Oatstraw Alpha Brain Wave support, Alpha BRAIN supplies 4 out of our top Best5 Nootropics – Phosphatidylserine, L-Theanine, Bacopa & Vinpocetine — for focus, memory, learning and more.
And with a unique twist, Alpha BRAIN stays ahead of the game with claims that their formula helps with communication. Don’t see that claim every day.
But the star of Alpha BRAIN’s formula is their key component AC-11®. Other nootropic supplements are forbidden from using this unique blend of Cat’s Claw herb.
Problem is, AC-11® promises to manage brain degeneration but that claim, amongst other nootropic promises, hasn’t been proven scientifically…just yet.
Where Alpha BRAIN is botanical “Earth Grown Nutrients,” Nootroo’s formula focus is more synthetic, including racetam-class nootropics.
Nootroo combines top-quality ingredients for better mind and focus, with a few wild cards…and it seems to work. Amongst their best ingredients is our #1 Best5 Nootropic Citicoline; fast-acting for sharp memory and great mental processing.
Although Nootroo incorporates caffeine with their SmoothCaffeine™ prop blend, they balance it out with L-Theanine for more relaxed alertness.
They also added Noopept and Phenylpiracetam said to be 1,000X more powerful than even the most popular of racetams. They pack a punch with potential amazing brain boosting benefits for focus.
The guys behind Nootroo put plenty of thought towards how to utilize their formulas; the ingredients mesh well together.
Because their strategy works and their formula is scientifically-backed, we have a winner.
Round 1 goes to Nootroo.
Round 2: Dosages
Nootroo and Alpha BRAIN use primarily proprietary blends, leaving their dosages a mystery. But Alpha BRAIN gives us some light at the end of the tunnel, while Nootroo leaves us alone in the dark.
Alpha BRAIN tells us their AC-11® is 350 mg.
And if we break it down, almost all of Alpha BRAIN’s prop blends have at decent dosage to ingredients ratio.
But they slipped with their Focus Blend.
To see the kind of benefits that really make a difference, we’d need more than 240 mg to unlock the benefits Bacopa and Alpha GPC promise.
In the other corner, Nootroo hides their dosages completely.
We have absolutely no way of telling whether their dosages are hitting their mark or completely off to the wayside.
But, Nootroo only has 3 ingredients per capsule — greatly improving the likelihood of big, Critical Mass dosages. There’s just more room to go around.
Round 2 Winner: Nootroo.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
Right off the bat, Alpha BRAIN should’ve used Citicoline instead of Alpha GPC, and P-5-P instead of B6. It’s a smarter move; Citicoline and P-5-P are higher quality forms of nootropics.
Also, Alpha BRAIN lacks standardized ingredients everywhere except for AC-11®. But as great as AC-11® sounds, none of the great benefits promised have been scientifically proven.
Luckily, they recover thanks to their clean label; there’s only two ingredients listed under the “Other” category.
Nootroo chose high quality nootropic ingredients (Citicoline is #1 for benefits on our Best5 list). And wild cards Noopept & Phenylpiracetam have the potential and research to unlock some big brain boosting potential.
But their formula would’ve benefited had they swapped caffeine for a nootropic ingredient. They did think to combine caffeine with L-Theanine; smart on their side.
On top of that, their formula is simple with only 3 ingredients in each.
Nootroo’s formulas are stacked with intense nootropic beneficial ingredients for maximum mental processing, sharp focus, concentration, and alertness.
Round 3…Nootroo WINS.
Round 4: Price
Nootroo | VS. | Alpha BRAIN
1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $64.95 | 1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $32.95
Per capsule | $2.17 | Per capsule | $1.17
Per serving | $2.17 | Per serving | $2.34 |
Round 4 Winner is Nootroo.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
Nootroo and Alpha BRAIN duke it out with the same idea: formulas to boost alertness, productivity, and cognition.
They also both feature theoretical, unproven nootropic ingredients: The racetams for Nootroo; the AC-11 for Alpha BRAIN.
But overall, in the ring these two formula styles are very different… and the winner is easy to see.
Alpha BRAIN has a great plan. They got creative with their Brain Wave focus and their AC-11® formula would do wonders…if they had the research to back up the claims.
The promising communication boost is marketing-smart and unique. Plus the clean label is a bonus.
But everyone has a plan ’til they get punched in the mouth… which is exactly what Nootroo’s heavy-hitting stack does to Alpha BRAIN.
We think the science and potential of Nootroo’s Noopept+Phenylpiracetam stack is just way more exciting for focus and alertness. Alpha BRAIN’s AC-11 has less evidence,
But the real knockout punch is that Nootroo features Best5’s top nootropic Citicoline in both of their formulas.
Nootroo does focus and mental alertness better because it included higher-quality nootropic ingredients over Alpha BRAIN’s questionable AC-11®-driven blend.
To contend against Nootroo, Alpha BRAIN needs to hit the gym and come back with more a lot more evidence on AC-11 as a nootropic.
The Winner of Nootroo vs. Alpha BRAIN, by Unanimous Decision…
NOOTROO
