Another “high-tech” beads floating in capsules fat burner supplement coming in hot. Except this time it’s coming from the big boys at MuscleTech, as opposed to beads-in-capsules masters Performix.
The goal of these patented NANOBEADS: to transcend “the limitations of outdated liquid or powder pills used by many competitor products!” And thus the “next gen” in Xenadrine NextGen makes sense: this supplement’s looking to toss old school caps for the new pills everyone’s jumping off bridges to get.
Is this new capsule trend the real deal? Or only the latest trend used by manufacturers to make a quick buck before the market catches on? Let’s read the Xenadrine NextGen review to find out.

About Xenadrine NextGen
Manufactured by MuscleTech, Xenadrine NextGen is an “Advanced Dual-Capsule Technology” fat burner stack. Built on the CGA + Caffeine combo, this supplement is inherently set up to burn some fat …but as a whole it has a few deal-breaking issues. Formula notes:
- Fast-Release Liquid Matrix: Two notable health compounds, MCT and CLA, combine to create the suspension liquid for the NANOBEADS, and to steal precious capsule space from the other ingredients in this stack.
- Weight Loss, Energy and Focus Enhancer+: The second proprietary blend carries the meat of this formula, namely Green Coffee Bean Extract and Caffeine.
- Poorly Dosed: The remaining four ingredients in the second blend share a measly four milligrams, begging the question: What you trying to pull here, Xenadrine?

Xenadrine NextGen has two different Supplement Facts listed across the internet.
For the record, the Xenadrine NextGen formula assessed in this review is the formula shared on the Xenadrine NextGen website. Amazon, on the other hand, showcases a significantly different formula. And so, if you’re supplementing the Amazon and similar versions of Xenadrine NextGen …then, well, this review isn’t for you.
Having gotten that out of the way, let’s get on with the Xenadrine NextGen review, starting with the ingredients.
Xenadrine NextGen Review: Ingredients
A disappointing move by MuscleTech, who gave into the proprietary blend trend with this formula. These manufacturers are generally good about transparency with their fat burner supplements, but apparently the secrets held in this formula are just too good to release to the public.
Or MuscleTech simply doesn’t want to share their poor dosages with you. Fortunately, the first blend showcases the individual ingredient dosages for MCT and CLA.
Fast-Release Liquid Matrix
Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) Oil – Some fat burners use MCT to improve intermittent fasting results. Supplements that employ the “Dual-Capsule” design use MCT as a suspension liquid for the product’s internal cap. As such, there’s not enough MCT here to achieve peak MCT benefits, and the MCT that is here likely steals precious milligrams from the other fat burners.
Clarinol® Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) – As part of the suspension liquid, CLA also helps keep the internal capsule afloat. Yet, CLA as a fat burner is a popular ingredient among bodybuilders for its potential to improve fat-to-muscle body composition.
Weight Loss, Energy and Focus Enhancer+
Robusta Coffee Extract – A MuscleTech and Best5 favorite fat burner, green coffee bean extract supplies chlorogenic acid (CGA), a bio-active compound that may spike fat metabolism and regulate appetite.
Caffeine Anhydrous – Another hot, reliable fat burner ingredient, even if it’s just caffeine, this ingredient helps spark thermogenesis, as well as energy and focus.
Longan Extract – There’s not much on this herb for fat reduction. However, Longan may have neuroprotective properties, etching a nootropic edge to this supplement. Perhaps this is what MuscleTech qualifies as “Sensory”?
Nutmeg – While there might be fat burning effects with nutmeg, MuscleTech sometimes uses this ingredient for its “unique sensory experience”… Has anyone ever had a sensory experience with Nutmeg? Are we missing something here?
Theacrine (as TeaCrine®) – Often stacked with caffeine, this caffeine-like compound may help spread the effects of caffeine over time.
Rhodiola Rosea Extract – A highly potent, powerful, adaptogen herb, Rhodiola rosea may help reduce cortisol damages while improving testosterone expression. Always a solid choice for the bodybuilding athlete (or really anyone).
Formula Analysis
There’s a clear reason why Xenadrine NextGen withheld the individual ingredient dosages for every ingredient listed below caffeine. If the Weight Loss, Energy, and Focus Enhancer+ only supplies 384 mg, of which green coffee bean extract and caffeine comprise 380 mg, then only 4 mg has been set aside for Longan Extract, Nutmeg, Theacrine, and Rhodiola rosea.
Why even list these ingredients? (For the appearance of having them, of course!)
Even the B vitamins, ingredients that require very small dosages, are under-dosed. With that in mind, it seems the Intelligent Delivery Nanobeads design has diminished the power of this formula’s ingredients by siphoning their dosages for the also under-dosed MCT and CLA suspension liquid.
Xenadrine NextGen isn’t the first supplement to utilize the “Intelligent Delivery” beads-within-capsules technology for the purported benefit of enhanced nutrient absorption. However, the other supplements that utilize it — most notably Performix — at least put up a questionably effective formula.
Instead, Xenadrine NextGen has officially put into question: Are these “intelligent dosing beads” products full of …well, shit? Seems like a shiny gimmick to distract from poor, ineffective ingredient dosages.
Xenadrine NextGen Benefits
Because it’s a MuscleTech fat burner, Xenadrine NextGen has the “Double The Weight Loss” claim attached to its name. MuscleTech fat burners often (always?) carry green coffee bean extract, seemingly to misquote a study that found 2x more weight loss in a sample group versus placebo.
Only problem: That study doesn’t apply to MuscleTech formulas.
Having said that, here are the specific health claim quotes for Xenadrine NextGen:
- Powerful Weight Loss
- Enhanced Focus
- Energy & Sensory
- Supports Macronutrient Metabolism
Xenadrine NextGen may assist with fat loss. However, the “Focus,” “Energy,” and “Sensory” claims are only true insomuch that caffeine boosts focus, energy, and whatever MuscleTech means by “sensory.”
Who Takes It?
CGA + Caffeine Lovers. If you’re a big fan of the CGA + Caffeine combo, then Xenadrine NextGen at least has that for you. However, so do many other MuscleTech fat burners, that also have other effective fat burner ingredients. So… MuscleTech seems to be its best friend and worst enemy in this case.
Any Side Effects?
None reported and none expected. On the whole, Xenadrine NextGen stays away from the hyperactive, heart-racing stimulants, sticking to predominantly safe, healthy ingredients. Having said that, caffeine sensitive users should take Xenadrine NextGen with caution, especially while stacking this supplement with other caffeine laden supplements.
Xenadrine NextGen Review Summary
Pros
- Best5 Favs. Green Coffee Bean Extract and CLA top our list for good reason.
- CLA. This ingredient might be properly dosed enough to work.
Cons
- Poorly Dosed. Four milligrams for four ingredients is inexcusably bad.
- Proprietary. Seems like an intentional trick to obscure the poor dosages.
- Ineffective. The NANOBEADS tech largely smells of horseshit.
- Expensive. Not a relatively expensive product, but also not worth the investment for this formula.
Pricing and Where to Buy
- 1 Bottle (1 month; 60 liquid caps): $37.49
- Available online and in retail stores
You can buy Xenadrine NextGen through the Xenadrine NextGen website, as well as Amazon and eBay.
Final Word on Xenadrine NextGen
The long and short of our Xenadrine NextGen review: You can do way better. With a base built on CGA and Caffeine, this supplement will likely do some good for fat loss. However, this combo is so common to MuscleTech products that we see no reason to invest in this one. The rest of the formula is ineffective at best, scammy at worst. We recommend a pass on this one.
