In deciding between SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme, what else do you need to know beyond these supplements’ titles? After all, isn’t the “extreme” version of a supplement generally better than the original?
Do want fat burns or extreme fat burns? Muscle gains or extreme muscle gains?
Double-stacked meat lovers pizza or extreme double-stacked meat lovers pizza?
There’s simply no comparison. Or at least there shouldn’t be. Yet, between SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme, Cellucor has made several significant, game-changing differences. Enough to cause worry that one is in fact much worse than the other. However, you’ll need to read the SuperHD vs. SuperHD Xtreme review to figure out which one that is.

Formula Comparison
SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme share only a few of the same ingredients, with the former supplement stacking up a much larger formula than the latter.
In fact, had Cellucor removed the “SuperHD” from SuperHD Xtreme’s title, swapped it with something else entirely, we would have never claimed these formulas to be quote-unquote similar. We’re not entirely sure what qualifies SuperHD Xtreme as an extension from the original SuperHD formula — is it their shared base of caffeine?
All the same, there are a few notable similarities and differences between these supplements worth pointing out, especially if you’re planning on only buying one of these two fat burners. And, frankly, you should only consume one of these at a time, unless you’re down for some serious caffeination.
How are SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme formulas similar?
We’ve already mentioned caffeine. But there are a couple more ingredients shared between SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme, including: Capsimax® Cayenne Extract and Rauwolfia vomitoria Extract. (Fear not: Rauwolfia vomitoria isn’t as nasty as it sounds.)
This shared base of caffeine, cayenne, and Rauwolfia includes two of our Best5 favorite fat burners (caffeine and cayenne), in addition to a unique herbal extract that may possess nootropic advantages. Although, in nature, Rauwolfia vomitoria is a highly toxic plant, so we’re somewhat curious what the hell brought Cellucor to stacking this extract into their supplements.
How are SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme formulas different?
There’s more that’s different between these supplements than what’s similar, and so rather than diving into their differences ingredient-by-ingredient, we’ll distinguish them by their overall designs. And for SuperHD, the original SuperHD formula, the formula’s design can essentially be summed up as: Fish Peptides?
SuperHD features a unique, patented ingredient: SlimPro. And, in theory, this fish peptide brand may help with appetite cravings. Yet, the research simply isn’t quite there. Whereas the remaining ingredients range from anti-stress compounds (L-Tyrosine and Rhodiola extract) and exotic, unsubstantiated herbs (Evodia, Amla…)
SuperHD Xtreme, on the other hand, has a fairly simple identity: Caffeine Pills. There’s really nothing else to this supplement that’s exceptionally different from the original SuperHD formula outside of the fact that SuperHD Xtreme has way more caffeine. And that’s about it.
SuperHD vs. SuperHD Xtreme: Unique Benefits
SuperHD supplies fish peptides.
Cellucor takes a gamble with SlimPro, asking its customers to take a gamble as well. While SuperHD also establishes a diverse enough base of fat burners outside of this ingredient — caffeine, cayenne, yohimbine, etc. — it’s hard to determine which ingredient better represents SuperHD’s fat burning identity, given the formula’s proprietary held secrecy.
Even so, we’re seeing one of the hottest fat burning ingredients of 2018 in this stack: Green Tea Extract. Which is an awesome addition otherwise not found in SuperHD Xtreme’s formula.
SuperHD Xtreme stacks more caffeine.
And not just any ol’ caffeine but various forms of the stimulant drug:
- Caffeine Anhydrous – Straight up caffeine powder.
- XCELICOR™ – Caffeine bound to antioxidant pterostilbene.
- TeaCor™ – Caffeine-like theacrine for purportedly slower release effects.
In addition to SuperHD Xtreme’s caffeine ingredients, Cellucor attempts to notch a nootropic edge to this formula with Zembrin® and Rauwolfia vomitoria. Yet, it’s hard to discern how much of a nootropic impact these ingredients will have when they’re smothered in this much caffeine.
- Unless you highly value the thermogenic properties of caffeine (after all, caffeine does boost thermogenesis), SuperHD has a more diverse, nuanced fat burner stack than SuperHD Xtreme’s caffeine blitz.
Dosage Comparison
Okay, we’ll need to do a little maff in this category, thanks to Cellucor’s annoying non-transparent, proprietary blend trend they’ve continued with SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme. So, let’s tackle each proprietary blend’s overall dosage, starting with SuperHD’s blends:
- SuperHD ThermoSculpting Blend – 250 mg for three ingredients.
- SuperHD Sensory Impact Blend – 250 mg for eight ingredients.
Frankly, these dosages won’t cut it for this formula. 500 mg just isn’t enough for all 11 of SuperHD’s ingredients to work. But SuperHD Xtreme’s single proprietary blend isn’t too great either:
- SuperHD Xtreme Blend – 435 mg for six ingredients.
And those numbers disappoint further when you realize that 300 mg of that 435 mg are dedicated to caffeine alone. Although, having performed several Cellucor supplement reviews, it’s no surprise by now that their proprietary blends hide poor ingredient dosages.
- Not only do SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme lose points for their proprietary statuses but each supplement loses further points for the overall poor dosages on those blends.
Ingredient Quality Comparison
We’re seeing a number of ® and ™ logos on these ingredients, which seem to indicate that Cellucor is pulling out the big guns once again in SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme. And this is a smart move on their part: Without these high quality ingredients, Cellucor supplements wouldn’t work.
And they wouldn’t work due to their proprietary dosage and capsule cleanliness (see next section) issues. Fortunately, Cellucor knows how to pick their ingredients correctly, stacking an impressive list of fat burner brands (Capsimax®, Slimpro®, XCELICOR®, and more) and natural, herbal extracts.
Given that SuperHD original is the large formula of the two, it showcases more high quality ingredients than the SuperHD Xtreme formulation. Yet, each product is essentially tied up in this round, given that a majority of each formula showcases high quality, highly potent fat burners.
Cellucor even brought out the enhanced P-5-P form of vitamin B6, which …I mean, damn, you don’t see that too often.
- Both SuperHD and SuperHD Xtreme excel in terms of ingredient quality and potency. Cellucor tends to do a solid job at selecting the preferred, enhanced ingredient forms for their supplements.
Nutrient Delivery and Clean Label Comparison
Does either SuperHD or SuperHD Xtreme carry any nutrient absorption enhancing ingredients, such as BioPerine Black Extract or Ginger Extract? Eh, no. Nothing of that sort. What you get in these formulas, in terms of ingredients, is what you get: The fat burning formula with no additional spice.
Nothing to get more of those nutrients into your system.
And what’s more: The capsules are crap.
For both supplements, the capsule quality is *insert poop emoji* shittay. We’re seeing the usual round of Cellucor additives and fillers: FD&C colorants, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, etc., etc. None of these ingredients are necessary for a functional supplement. And in fact they may actually inhibit the nutrient delivery of each formula — namely magnesium stearate, which has a negative reputation as a nutrient absorption inhibitor.
Having said that, Cellucor’s allegiance to quality herbal extracts somewhat makes up for the dirty caps …but we’re still all around unimpressed in this round of the comparison review.
- Neither SuperHD nor SuperHD Xtreme earn any points in the Nutrient Delivery and Clean Label Comparison. Although, this is to be expected with most (if not all) Cellucor supplements.
Price Comparison
SuperHD | vs. | SuperHD Xtreme
1 Bottle (120 servings) | $69.99 | 1 Bottle (60 servings) | $59.99
Price Per Serving | $0.58 | Price Per Serving | $1.00 |
SuperHD costs $10 more than SuperHD Xtreme. Yes. However… SuperHD also supplies a hefty 120 servings with a two servings daily directive, as opposed to SuperHD Xtreme’s 60 servings with same directions.
In other words, with SuperHD you’re receiving a two month’s supply of fat burners, whereas SuperHD Xtreme only lasts for a month, if you’re taking two servings daily. Not to mention that SuperHD provides more ingredients than SuperHD Xtreme. So, it’s pretty clear which supplement is of higher value here.
- Despite being $10 more than its extreme HD counterpart, SuperHD provides a longer lasting supply of more ingredients than SuperHD Xtreme’s skimpy caffeine formula.
SuperHD vs. SuperHD Xtreme: Which is Better?
If we’re being 100% completely honest — absolutely no bullshit — with you …we need to tell you that, really, neither SuperHD nor SuperHD Xtreme are great fat burner supplements. Frankly, you can do better than either one of these products. (See: Best Fat Burner Supplements.)
However, if you’re dead set on the SuperHD style of fat burning — say, for instance, you like that caffeine for big-time pre-workout boosts — then we’d have to recommend the original SuperHD.
While SuperHD Xtreme does have an admittedly impressive diversity of caffeine stimulation, SuperHD still has enough caffeine to get your energy and focus up, as well as more fat burners for the lean muscle growth. Does SuperHD do enough to really slim down that belly fat? Not really.
But between these two supplements, SuperHD does enough to come out on top.
