This supplementary intake is good, but we’re yet to see anything that actively contributes to fat-burning.
Ashwagandha
This is a classic herbal ingredient that is often found in testosterone boosters and male wellness products due to its effect on mood and libido.
There are some possible anti-anxiety effects which can help with everything from exercise recovery to mood.
There aren’t any fat-burning or hormonal benefits to this product, but it does contribute to the same feelings we mentioned with tyrosine.
If nothing else, it’s likely to contribute to making a diet more manageable without some of the less-desirable side effects.
We’re still looking at secondary ingredients, but they’re good choices for that role.
Olive leaf
This is a compound that is primarily included for a combination of phenols – which support general wellbeing – and glucose metabolism.
Obviously, glucose is the form that carbohydrates take in the body and properly managing them is an important part of healthy metabolism.
We’re likely to see changes to your cholesterol and insulin profile with this supplement, but not significant fat burning.
The result is a better, healthier metabolism, but not a more potent one. Again, a good secondary ingredient but we’re struggling to see where the increased fat loss would come from among these compounds.
It’s good for health – and it could help addressing other problems – but won’t change your life.
Kelp for Iodine
The iodine in this product may also be useful in the same way. It can contribute to reducing the risk of iodine deficiency – which does negatively impact the thyroid gland and your hormonal wellbeing.
The problem, however, is that there’s no actual benefits to iodine supplementation if you’re not deficient. While sufficiency helps normal metabolism, more doesn’t mean better fat-burning, so it’s a top-up at best.
The content here is good but it doesn’t necessarily translate to better results on your diet and it won’t have the subjective effects mentioned above.
This is a popular product for fat loss but is just another nutritional change you could get within your diet to support healthy, effective fat loss.
GBB
The compound Gamma-Butyrobetaine is also called GBB. This is a form of Ketone ester that has become popular in recent years, primarily as a suspected driver of fat metabolism. This is a pre-drug for carnitine, which is a key part of energy metabolism.
The main role of this compound is to shuttle fatty acids for use as fuel, resulting in increased fat metabolism. This is basically how ketone bodies work and it offers a significant shift towards fat loss and away from muscle loss during a diet.
This would be even better combined with a muscular support compound like HMB or Creatine – as well as an adequate protein diet.
By itself, this is another good way to modulate your body’s energy source, but still doesn’t actively burn fat.
The thyroid and metabolic regulation effects are cool, but we’re still missing the ‘thermogenic’ side of the product.
Guggul
This is a compound that has been included because it has some interaction with thyroids. However, the evidence isn’t clear how effectively or reliably it does this, leading us to be skeptical about its value in this product.
The benefits aren’t necessarily significant, but it makes for an interesting thyroid support compound in the context of the rest of this product.
It’s another ingredient that contributes to the total lack of thermogenic effect, though it may help the thyroid effects.
This is a relatively small percentage of the total contents of the capsules, so we like it as a small adjunct.
However, it’s the last ingredient on the label and we still haven’t seen anything that boosts fat loss, which is a little disappointing.

Thyrogenic Formula Analysis
The end result of Thyrogenic is all thyroid and no thermogenic. There’s nothing in this product that actively contributes to the fat loss process by increasing catecholamine action – like EGCG – or metabolic rate – like Capsaicin.
The result is a product that looks like hormonal support, rather than fat-burning. This is a great platform for fat-loss, but the end result is a product that is a dietary aid, not a fat-burner.
The bottle says thermogenic, but the actual ingredients show that to be untrue. We’d like to see this strong foundation used more accurately and clearly with a fat-burning metabolism booster.
