Cellucor Super HD vs. Zantrex-3 is the supplement battle between two bros at the gym who thinks they both know how to bodybuild more than the other. This one is about two blokes who both learned how to squat yesterday and insist on being so-called fitness gurus.
Yeah, we see these two a lot.
One bro insists on following this “new and freaking awesome” detailed workout program some washed-up stuntman advocates because it made him nail this fight scene in some obscure action film. The other bro is all “You don’t need a program!” and suggests you just stick to this one “super exercise” that does the job eventually.
Like the first bro, Cellucor Super HD is a pretty complicated fat-burner utilizing 15 ingredients all crammed into one capsule. The second bro is like Zantrex-3 when it comes to focusing on just one way to burn fat and that is to feed you with more caffeine than you’re used to.
Neither is very good at what they do compared to our best picks. But which one should you go for if all you’re left with are these two supplements?
Let’s find out…

Round 1: Formulas
Both Cellucor Super HD and Zantrex-3 incorporate a number of ingredients to give their claims of weight loss, fat burn, and other promises some form of credibility.
Cellucor Super HD is all about strength in numbers.
Cellucor’s 15-ingredient capsule is really made of three sections.
SuperHD ThermoSculpting Blend is composed of just three ingredients: Green Tea Extract is our #1 fat burner, Slimpro® Protein Hydrolysates is able to improve bodyweight by boosting our “appetite control” signals, and Dandelion for losing lots of water weight.
SuperHD Sensory Impact Blend starts strong with NALT, the right form for a nootropic like Tyrosine, Rhodiola is an adaptogen to prevent stress and improve willpower, Amla is a really awesome ingredient for cardiovascular health and for memory and learning. Cayenne comes in the form of Capsimax, a premium brand which makes cayenne definitely addition in a fat burner but we think it belongs more to the other blend. Yohimbe is another good ingredient to have for fat-burning and not for this sensory blend. Evodia is Cayenne’s milder yet stomach-friendly cousin, Clubmoss is for Huperzine-A, a potent nootropic that works even in really small doses. Finally, they have this thing called Rauvolfia for pain-relief during recovery.
They also have a good serving of Caffeine here, our #2 best fat burner.
Zantrex-3 is all about stimulants.
Zantrex-3 doesn’t believe in the concept of blends. Zantrex-3 believes in the fat-burning power of super stimulation and it does so by using Guarana, Coffee Bean, and Kola for the kind of rush you need with reduced side effects.
Green Tea Extract has some caffeine but it’s known more as a well-researched fat burner with little to side-effects noted. Kelp acts as an appetite suppressant (fiber power, bro), Fennel will make you piss a lot, and ALA is a good ingredient for weight loss if used in large doses.
In conclusion of the first round, both formulas aren’t exactly something you would call promising per se but one of them is on top of their game compared to the other and today, that fat-burner is Zantrex-3.
We have a thing for simple formulations as those often offer focus and not end up spreading the potency too thin. Cellucor Super HD had a pretty good roster but we’re after fat burning compounds FIRST and Zantrex-3 had more focus on that one needed aspect.
Round 1… Zantrex-3 Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
Both supplements covered their dosages with a prop blend so this battle will be all about comparing the dosage of the ingredients that matter most: Fat burners.
Cellucor Super HD has 15 ingredients in one 660 mg serving and their ThermoSculpting Blend is at 250 mg. Small for Green Tea, ineffective for Slimpro, and I’m not sure if Dandelion counts. It has 160 mg of Caffeine, though, and it definitely works in that range.
Zantrex-3 combines Guarana, Coffee Bean, and Kola for an unknown amount of caffeine but putting Green Tea extract, the best fat burner out there, a little close at the bottom of the ingredient ladder. This hints at a possible underdosing specially if Zantrex-3 prefers to use a poorly researched Citrus Extract as the main driving force of their formula.
Cellucor Super HD is definitely underdosed save for the added caffeine but at least we can make a better guess at how poor the doses are unlike with Zantrex-3.
Round 2… Cellucor Super HD Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
Sometimes ingredient quality can make up for small doses and between the two fat burners, only Cellucor Super HD had the balls to actually invest on high quality ingredients such as Slimpro, NALT, Capsimax, and standardized Evodiamine. Zantrex-3 made do with what seemed to be plain ingredients with no hints of any form of standardization whatsoever.
Round 3… Cellucor Super HD Wins.
Round 4: Price
Cellucor Super HD | VS. | Zantrex-3
1 Bottle (120-day supply) | $69.99 | 1 Bottle (56 capsules) | $39.99
Price Per Capsule | $0.58 | Price Per Capsule | $0.71
Price Per Serving | $0.58 | Price Per Serving | $1.42 |
Round 4… Cellucor Super HD Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
Our reviews for Cellucor Super HD and Zantrex-3 reflect the current results of the battle. Both are poorly made ingredients to begin with, but Cellucor Super HD has a good one-star advantage over Zantrex-3:
- We’re talking 2.5 (Cellucor Super HD) vs. 1.5 (Zatntrex-3) out of 5 stars.
Both were bad but one was definitely worse.
If you’re going to pick between the two, you have to ask yourself: Do you want to simply burn fat or do you want to mix it up a bit?
For us, we consider the BIG picture and the BIG picture is clear. While we respect Zantrex-3’s simple and plain approach, it was simply overtaken by Cellucor Super HD’s quality of ingredients despite low doses. The price also counts for long-term use.
Any serious lifter knows the benefits of a workout plan and a bro who follows a program, no matter how dumb or inefficient it looks, will always be a notch higher than a bro who just does what he thinks works for him and him alone.
In the Cellucor Super HD vs. Zantrex-3 fight, the winner by Decision is…
