“What do customers buy after viewing this item?”
We checked this tab on Xtreme Test’s Amazon listing and found:
The exact same formula in a separate product. Leading us to think, well… why buy this one if there’s a formula just like it that everyone else is buying anyways? Spoiler Alert: we’ve already reviewed the other product, and, frankly, it didn’t come out with the best review.
Having said that, let’s see if Xtreme Test does this formula better.

About Xtreme Test
Manufactured by Fundamental Sound Science, Xtreme Test a male testosterone & libido booster (as advertised on Amazon) designed to …well, boost testosterone & libido for men. Interestingly, Xtreme Test isn’t the only supplement to sell this exact formula. Formula notes:
- Proprietary Formula: Xtreme Test hides all eight of its ingredients under a low-dosed proprietary blend, obscuring each ingredient’s individual dosage.
- Boron: The best (& perhaps the only) booster in this formula is our second favorite test boosting mineral for its quick test:estrogen balance benefits.
- Alpha Boost: Another supplement called Alpha Boost carries these exact ingredients in the same proprietary order, which has us wondering: what good is the proprietary status??

Xtreme Test is xtremely testing our patience: what are your dosages??
Xtreme Test is one of many formulas to take the proprietary blend route, a well-known shady tactic used by manufacturers to hide the individual ingredient dosages of their formula. For all we know, Xtreme Test is just a hefty supply of Horny Goat Weed with a sprinkle of everything else. Not that HGW is a bad ingredient …but it’s not a test booster.
Let’s find the test boosters in this formula:
Proprietary Formula
Altogether, we’re looking at eight ingredients sharing a small 742 mg dosage. This ain’t good, doggs — not for boosting manly levels of testosterone! But before we criticize, let’s take a look at each ingredient in this proprietary formula:
Horny Goat Weed Extract – HGW doesn’t qualify as a testosterone booster but may mimic the effects of T, most noticeably in the sex & libido department (if you couldn’t figure that out by the “horny” element of its name).
Tongkat Ali Extract – While most research indicates that TA primarily helps older male test levels, TA still outperforms HGW as a test booster, doubling as an adaptogen for its support on the testosterone:cortisol ratio.
Saw Palmetto Extract – Often supplemented for prostate protection, saw palmetto inhibits 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme responsible for converting T to DHT, which may affect prostate health at unhealthy levels.
Orchic Substance – Extracted from bull testicles (damn straight), believed to enhance human testicular function, yet the research is weak on this point.
Wild Yam Extract – Not too sure about this one either — manufacturers claim this botanical increases natural DHEA levels, but there’s no clinical evidence of this. Rather, wild yam seems to possess a more legitimate reputation as a female support supplement for menopausal women.
Sarsaparilla Extract – Often used in sodie pop, however some manufacturers supply sarsaparilla as an ergogenic steroid — even though there’s no evidence to back this up.
Stinging Nettle Extract – Potentially further supports the prostate protection supplied by saw palmetto, although the research isn’t quite there yet in fully backing this claim. Regardless, a smart addition to this male supplement.
Boron Amino Acid Chelate – Our #5 favorite testosterone booster on our BIG List of T-Boosters, earning the spot with its well-researched boosts on free testosterone, with one study finding significantly improved test levels in only one week of supplementation.
Questionable choices here (sarsaparilla?) alongside a few man-happy ingredients: HGW, TA, Boron… But we’re getting some intense déjà vu looking at these ingredients…
Formula Analysis
Okay, we have seen this formula before — ingredient for ingredient — in the Prime Labs Alpha Boost testosterone booster. However, there’s one key difference between these two supplements:
- Xtreme Test recommends a 2-pill daily intake.
- Alpha Boost recommends a 4-pill daily intake.
In other words, if you want to match the test power sold by Alpha Boost, you’ll need to double each Xtreme Test serving — in effect doubling the cost of this supplement: that 30-day supply has just been cut to a 15-day supply.
But is this something you even want to do? Is the formula even good?
It’s decent, at least for enhancing libido. And its quality is, ehh.. decent as well, notable points of interest including: the herbal extracts (but what are they?) and the boron amino acid chelate.
Although, we can’t say for sure whether or not each ingredient is adequately dosed, thanks to the formula’s proprietary status. What we can do is guesstimate a possible mg per ingredient, based on the blend’s overall dosage: 92.75 mg per ingredient — which becomes 185.5 mg per ingredient if you’re doubling the serving.
This isn’t bad, but again may get pricey over time.
Xtreme Test Benefits
Fundamental Sound Science makes a few benefit claims w/r/t Xtreme Test, including:
- Supports Muscle Growth
- Assists with Energy and Drive
- Promotes Libido and Vitality
These are reasonable claims. While we wouldn’t pin Xtreme Test down as a BIG-time testosterone booster, we do see mild bodybuilding, athletic advantages with these herbal male enhancers. At the least, the Horny Goat Weed will have you feeling nice & randy.
Who Takes It?
Toe Heads & Horn Dogs. The type of guys looking to get their work on during the day and their freak on at night. Granted, it’s the older men who would do better by these herbs, most notably HGW & Tongkat Ali, but all men can enjoy these invigorating plants.
Any Side Effects?
Nothing too serious. One of the Amazon customer reviews reported headache, whereas a few others simply complained that the pills are hard to swallow — and also easily break within the bottle. However, this is more a complaint on Xtreme Test’s design than its effects.
Xtreme Test Summary
Pros
- HGW & Tongkat Ali. Great sex enhancers, the latter a decent test booster.
- Boron. Quality “bio-available” mineral with well-researched test benefits.
- Herbal Extracts. Xtreme Test takes the potent extract route over plain powders.
Cons
- Proprietary. What are your ingredient dosages, yo??
- Sloppy Design. Apparently the tablets really, really suck.
- Pricing. Multiply that number by two, if you’re doubling the servings (as we recommend).
Pricing & Buying Info
- 1 Bottle (1 month): $22.50
- Available online and in retail stores
Final Word on Xtreme Test
Currently, Alpha Boost is off the market, so even if you wanted to go for the denser Xtreme Test counterpart, you can’t. Xtreme Test is your only option (assuming no one else is copying this formula). Regardless of who’s selling it, it’s not a bad formula — although not the best for test either. Our suggestion: try out a bottle for 15 days (double servings) and if you like it, then hell yaa, boi — go for another!
