What’s better: Pizza or Beer?
Hardest decision of your life—right, bro??
(First World problems hitting hard today on the Interwebs. What’s new?)
This dilemma details how we feel matching up Prime Male vs. TestoFuel, two of the BEST for TEST T-boosters on the market. It’d be a disservice to call one of these a “loser”… But there are no pansy wankers here on the B5 network:
Grab your pizza AND beer, bros, and let’s have us a fight!

Round 1: Formulas
In sheer numbers, Prime Male has more than TestoFuel, stacking up 12 ingredients to TestoFuel’s 9… But take it easy, bro:
More isn’t always better.
…except it totally is—check it:
Prime Male unlocks Synergy-within-Synergy T-Boosts.
Round 1 is perhaps the most important round, which is perhaps why Prime Male always wins these match-ups: It simply has the best formula for T-boosting. Especially for men on the mature end of the timescale.
And it’s no surprise with these ingredients, five of which encompass all of our top Best5 T-Boosters: D-Aspartic Acid, Zinc, Mucuna Pruriens, Vitamin D, and Boron.
But having BIG names in the T game isn’t what makes Prime Male’s formula the BEST. It’s how it mixes up its T-boosters for Synergy-within-Synergy effects, creating a jacked-up, well-rounded formula that targets testosterone from all angles:
- Blocks SHBG
- Inhibits Aromatase
- Provides Raw Material
- Increases T-Synthesis
And Prime Male doesn’t accomplish these actions mildly. The bioactions of its ingredients promote the potency of other ingredients: e.g. K2 potentiates D3, which magnifies Magnesium’s effects, which further potentiates D3.
Toss in the BioPerine, which enhances nutrient absorption, and you have a formula that’s potent, powerful, and effective.
TestoFuel provides Athletic T-Boosts for the BROs.
Compared to Prime Male, TestoFuel has a more condensed formula—stacking up to 9 science-backed ingredients, 3 of which top our BIG LIST of T-Boosters: D-Aspartic Acid, D3, & Zinc.
Judging by TestoFuel’s mix of Vitamins & Minerals and energy-enhancing herbs, it’s formula seems designed for the bodybuilding bros:
- One particular advantage that TestoFuel provides for athletes (that’s also shared by Prime Male) is the way it supplies Zinc in a sports nutritional ZMA format (Zinc, Magnesium, B6).
Top that off adaptogenic Panax Ginseng and performance-enhancing Fenugreek and you have yourself a range of T-boosts that not only support your hormonal masculinity, but your athleticism, as well (not too mention the added bed-time support from Fenugreek’s fenugreeky libido enhancements).
The only ingredient in this formula that we could probably do without, Oyster Extract, isn’t a bad source of additional Zinc, Magnesium, & B6—potentially reinforcing the formula’s V & Ms… But we’re happy TestoFuel didn’t put too much emphasis on this inconsequential ingredient.
Due to this, TestoFuel falls short from Prime Male’s damn-near perfect formula. We recommend TestoFuel for you raging meatheads, but, as far as T goes, that synergy can’t be denied, BRO!
Round 1… Prime Male Wins.
Round 2: Dosages
The best way to start this is to compare the ingredients that are shared between Prime Male and TestoFuel:
Prime Male | TestoFuel | ||
Ingredients | Dosage | Ingredients | Dosage |
D-AA-CC | 1600 mg | DAA | 2300 mg |
Zinc | 30 mg | Zinc | 10 mg |
Vitamin D3 | 5000 IU | Vitamin D3 | 5000 IU |
Vitamin B6 | 7.5 mg | Vitamin B6 | 5 mg |
Vitamin K2 | 45 mcg | Vitamin K2 | 18 mcg |
Magnesium | 100 mg | Magnesium | 200 mg |
Side-by-side comparison, Prime Male and TestoFuel are tied with a 3 to 3 score and 1 tie.
Yet, most notably, TestoFuel tops Prime Male on the DAA dosage, supplying an extra 700 mg of our favorite T-boosting ingredient. For reasons discussed in the next section, this is offset by the type of DAA used by Prime Male, so stay tuned on that.
Aside from these 7 ingredients, Prime Male looks generally solid, while TestoFuel looks disappointingly meh… 100 mg isn’t much for Panax Ginseng nor Fenugreek, and these are integral herbs to TestoFuel’s formula.
For that, Prime Male gains an edge on TestoFuel again in this round.
Round 2… Prime Male Wins.
Round 3: Ingredient Quality
Alright, back to the DAA:
- TestoFuel has more of it, notching a worthy 2300 mg.
- Prime Male has the better, easier-to-absorb form: D-AA-CC.
Which is a nice intro on the quality of Prime Male’s ingredients:
They all look frickin’ niiiiiiiiice.
There are practically zero complaints that we have in regards to Prime Male’s ingredient qualities: The compounds are in premium conditions, the herbs are either standardized or extracted to high potency, even Vitamin B6 is in its rare P-5-P form.
Next to Prime Male, TestoFuel looks in need of improvement… Which isn’t to say that its ingredients are all bad—they qualify for a solid decent rating—but, even swapping out the herbs for herbal extracts could create a massive boost on the formula’s effects.
Prime Male, once again, sets the standard on how to get shit done.
Round 3… Prime Male Wins.
Round 4: Price
Prime Male | VS. | TestoFuel
1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $69.00 | 1 Bottle (30-day supply) | $65.00
Price Per Capsule | $0.58 | Price Per Capsule | $0.54
Price Per Serving | $2.30 | Price Per Serving | $2.17 |
Round 4… TestoFuel Wins.
Round 5: JUDGEMENT
Let’s get real:
Pizza isn’t better than beer. Beer isn’t better than pizza.
They’re designed for two completely separate functions:
- Getting fat.
- Getting drunk.
Prime Male & TestoFuel aren’t designed for “two completely separate functions” as they’re both primarily intended to boost T—however, their target demographics (older men and younger athletes, respectively) establish enough of a difference for us to say:
One isn’t necessarily better than the other.
Sure, Prime Male took the fight 3 rounds to 1—in that sense, it’s definitely better—but a younger dood looking to simply bulk up and feel good in the gym would do much better by a supplement like TestoFuel.
Take your pick, BRO. You have two solid options to choose from here.
But as far as the Best5 judging goes…
Shiv Yadav says
You say testoFuel is better for younger people and prime male for older. Can please tell you basis/reason for the same.
Thank you.
Best 5 Supplements says
Hi Shiv, yes, TestoFuel is for younger partly because of the fenugreek. It is for T, but is also a favored sports nutrition supplement among younger gym rats and bodybuilders, due to its benefits for strength training. So, that’s some pretty powerful stuff right there, that doesn’t apply as well to an older demographic.
Prime Male is for more mature men, who are at much greater risk of having an imbalance of estrogen to testosterone — which is flat-out bad for your manly mojo. So Prime Male seems to put a bigger emphasis on keeping estrogen in check, which is a must-have bio-activity for men who want to maintain their manly hormone ratio as they get older. Prime Male has Mucuna, Nettle and Luteolin to fight estrogen; TestoFuel has none of them. As a bonus, that Nettle also helps prostate health, which is more of a concern as men grow older.
Finally, Prime Male has more absorbable forms of some ingredients — Zinc Citrate, Magnesium Citrate, and B6 as P-5-P, specifically. This again is customized for older men, since our ability to digest and absorb some nutrients declines as we grow older. For that same reason, Prime Male supplies BioPerine (TestoFuel does not) — this black pepper extract boosts the absorption of other nutrients, offering another benefit for older men that the younger crowd doesn’t really need. Thanks for the question Shiv

I am an 68yr old male that work out in the gym usually every other day as long as my back does not hurt.. Am 6’2, athletic frame and not sure which T booster is more appropriate.. . Appreciate your comments
Best 5 Supplements says
Hi Steve, in general, Prime Male is recommended for men over 40 because its design is laser-focused on testosterone, unlike “younger” testosterone stacks that often mix in various sports nutrients and anabolic factors. Your case may seem a little different, considering you are working out in the gym every day. Either one of these T-Booster supplements would be a good pick for you, but we’re sticking with Prime Male as the better choice. In your case, we suggest taking sports nutrition supplements to support your gym training separately, and using Prime Male to unlock anabolic activity via testosterone increases. As a bonus, Prime Male supplies some quality Stinging Nettle extract, which supports T but may also help with prostate and urinary concerns that become more common after age 50 in men. Hope that helps, good luck with it!

Hi there,
I’m 43 years old and going 5 days per week to the gym for muscle gains. Taking whey protein, glutamine, bcaas and Anavar to improve gains.
I understand the diference between PM and TF and dont know if my case is different, or I should take PM anyway?
Need advice please.
Ryan says
Hey Francisco,
Your current stack is spot-on for muscle gains. If you’re still deciding between Prime Male and TestoFuel, I’d recommend Prime Male for testosterone-related muscle gains. A decrease in testosterone activity over time may make building muscle difficult, and given that Prime Male is perhaps the best natural testosterone boosting option on the market …that seems the way to go.
TestoFuel’s a solid athletic choice, but Prime Male’s more comprehensive boost on T may help improve your gains even better.
Best,
Ryan
